Ships of the ... Abbai Matriarchy

The Milani carries four Kotha flights. One Patrol point gets you eight more. I haven't played Abbai myself but I did this with Raiders once, taking advantage of the fact that the League are allowed to employ Raiders to provide fighter cover for some Drazi. (Why Raiders? Because I'd just finished painting a Strike Carrier and this was the only way I could use it. :D) The other player was originally confident his Sentris could handle the Delta V's, then had an Ivanova moment as I just kept putting out more of them - two Patrol points' worth plus the first two from the carrier.

Problem with the Milani is that it doesn't have the Carrier trait. So you won't even have all its fighters on the table until the end of Turn 2 - and that's if only you are successful with a "Scramble! Scramble!" order.

At least with seperately purchased fighters you have them on the table from turn 1. And, backed by an Escort, they might just be able to do some serious damage. I'd also forgotten about the Weak weapons still hitting hull six on a roll of '6'. That is a very odd consequence of the rule set. But no reason not to take advantage. With a Scout redirect you might even be able to make the Kotha a nusiance.

Fair points. Especially since the comms jammer frigate does double duty as a scout, allowing you to 'tag' your intended victim. Massed fighters is - as noted - probably the only time you have enough non beam/twin-linked weapons to care about the Scout trait.

And yes, I know what you mean about the raider fighter swarm. With a skirmish-level fleet carrier, they can really mob anything to a ridiculous degree.
