Ship sensors questions

Hello mates,

I was building some ships and encounters with them and have stumbled upon a question.

In the core book page 108, there are listed different sensor package systems. However, when one look in Ship operations, you can see 2 of the Sensor types not included in the package:

Thermal sensors - detects bodies of heat
EM sensors - detect energy emissions

How do you play this? Do you include them by default, or you put them as upgrades to the sensor pack of the ship?

The ship design chapter mentions only the active sensors like radar and
lidar, but it would be logical that the basic passive sensors like EM and
thermal (infrared) are also a part of each package.

I just wonder what exactly EM could mean, since all of the sensors ex-
cept NAS and densitometer are EM, just different wavelenghts, and I
have no idea which part of the EM spectrum the EM sensor is intended
to represent.

Page 143 of the core rulebook. EM sensors detect power flows and transmissions. So, fusion power plants.

Thank you. :)

I am glad I have ceased to play Traveller before a player could ask me
how this could be possible.
