Ship Computer Ratings

Exactly and that one dooms then as now everyone will be playing that and not paying any attention to the fusion plant that is about to overload or noticing the nearby start about to go supernova.

oops...I guess I should have continued staring at the displays. But I get so bored being the only one awake.

Adventure: Nightwatch - Brothers Revenge!

And back on topic - in MGT there is no limit to the number of programs, just what can be running at a time...

On p53 (Pocket Rulebook) it states 10-60 seconds to activate a program --- but I missed when this is done during combat (didn't find in HG either)?

During midwatch, while being board watching displays that are not changing, I insert the red cartridge. What the hell, everyone else is asleep.

"If this is the Jump cartridge, then where's my Virus storage?"

With the length of combat rounds, I wouldn't worry about it. It looks like you can change programs as fast as you need to. So your limits are on how much you can do at one time, not in one round.

Ok, that didn't help :?

[Fast as you need to would mean that a Computer/5 could run all programs in a round (excluding Intelligence >5) as storage is unlimited - mostly nullifying the computer rating...]

I'm thinking (ouch!) you mean no specific re-programming phase (my CT only roots are showing). This leaves

Program selected each round - upto the computer limit.

Or, select each phase upto the computer limit (like CT)

[Or I'm adrift again...]

I'm considering using a T4-style house-rule, in which computer power progression isn't linear, so a Rating 5 computer, for example, could run 1 Rating 5 program or 2 Rating 4 programs or 4 Rating 3 programs or 8 Rating 2 programs or 16 Rating 1 programs or 32 Rating 0 programs.

Sounds good; I may adopt this (may...).
