Shame where that I take an idea from the minbari federation fact book (A mongoose product) and the ed dont like the idea yet the book writer gets credit for the main idea.

Well the S&P editor isn't the same person as the Minbari Federation book editor, and since you admit that you took the idea from the RPG book, why shouldn't the writer of that book get the credit for their idea.

Apart from the fact that your article idea seems to have been kyboshed, I don't see the issue.

Dark Minbari? I'm not sure about ships, Basic Minbari designs say "light" quite clearly. Simply putting some shadow spikes wont do the trick...

But a background story will be interesting to read... :wink:
 
Man-o-war (the jellyfish) style streamers behind the ship would work. I'd try to convert some up but I have no Minibar ships.

Sorry but were drifting into the realms of 'stupid fanfic' territory now where people go around putting shadowtech into everything. The more you mess with the background the less it feels like proper B5 and if it went in S&P it would lend it a sort of semi-official feel to it that I just dont feel this idea warrants.

By all means post such a fleet concept and list on the forums but I doesn't appeal to me personally and I'm afraid I'm actually glad this one didnt make S&P (nothing personal, just dont like the concept (for that matter if its in the Minbari sourcebook then that just adds to the list of 'reasons I tend to think the RPG sourcebooks are full of it').

Sorry, just my 2 cents.
 
I agree with Locutus. I think if you want to do wacky things like this you need a completely alternate univese. Right Da Boss? ;)

Indeed it was fun to make up - and I can't resist converting stuff.

As said - there are several excellent fan made bits and bobs on here - draft it - clutter the forum like I did with ideas and see what people think - some will ignore and others enjoy - win win situation.
 
Hi Guys, I am afraid that this poll is a little pointless. Regardless of the outcome the article in question will not be published in S&P. I am not obliged to defend my decisions and I am sure that the writer would much prefer that I did not do so publicly. But needless to say I get a lot of submissions and most of them don't make the cut. You just have to keep trying. Writing is a very competitive arena.
 
Hi Charlie thanks for clairification - I think, rightly, that the focus has shifted to making something to put up on the forum for any /all that are interested - ie unofficial.

Unless I am misreading the situation

although some of the articles that have made it into S+P are utterly turd (however these were all pre you charlie)

I think if the work that Deeput into that can't get published, I'm probably best off forgetting the Temple ship, although I "think" Matt liked it
