Shadow Cloud Token?

I mean despite my embarrassment of not having the token to use or forgetting I had one...which I know want to leave work to go see if that is true :(, I am still curious to know if someone has made a model or something to use as a Cloud........I was thinking of getting one of those plastic balls that when you throw them they expand, they are interlinked rods...maybe I could cut it in half and then paint id black with grey highlights and affix on them missles and such, really kit bash the hell out of it.

What do you think?

i haven't tried it but i was thinking of trying to make one, and i was going to basically just use loads of cotton wool. the only problem i had was how to support it, but it would probably work. i was also thinking of sticking matchsticks in where i wanted the struts to be seen

That was one of my first thoughts...making it with cotton, only problem is that you need to paint it. I thought that the cotton wouldn't look as good as it is without the paint. The toothpicks as struts is a great idea.

With the ball idea I have....

I figured if I cut the expanding ball in half, flip it upside down so it was a closed bowl shape and then when I get to the planet, flip it over and expand it so it covers the planet.

that sounds like a good idea. i think acrylic paints work well on cotton wool. my only other idea was a paper mache cloud, but it would probably be hard to get it into the right shape.

go buy some of those styrofoam balls they sell at most craft stores. They use them to represent planets for kid's school science projects.

Oh, that is not a problem, I have those spheres and I plan on making many planets and moons. I want to make a shadow cloud that can cover them...

I found it, its called a Hoberman Sphere, you can buy them in many sizes...I think they are around 15 dollars American and what you do is expand them till they don't expand anymore and then cut them so you have two halves. Paint them black and dark codex grey, and then you have two shadow clouds. I am sure you can purchase a number of small bits to put on it as missles and also some gun turrents as shadow beam tech. Then you flip it over on its backside like a bowl and let it shrink, then you have a station and if you come to a planet you can flip it over and expand it over the planet.

:)

wow, thats cool!

Thats a cool idea dude. I have to confess that in the only game that we have ever used a shadow cloud we just use the plate my friend was eating his pie off. He hadn't even finished the pie, he just kept eating as we played. We had to clean the crums off the table at the end of the game.
