Hi all,

I do drop in now and then. I've been focused on trying to get out Away Team Log and working on parts for Traveller PD, so I haven't been by in the last few days.

Steve Cole doesn't drop in much here, just as Matthew doesn't drop in much on ADB's BBS or Forum. Each of them figures that the person in charge of that communication avenue will handle any issues.

The reason the boxes match is that the retailers wanted to be able to mix 2500s with Federation Commander products. Those are coded by the box. I believe that Matthew and Steve have been discussing an entirely different box with an entirely different mix -- one tailored for ACTASF. That discussion is at a higher level than I am privy to.

Regarding the FC Forum, we've heard sporadic complaints from people with yahoo, gmail, and hotmail accounts that they are not getting the confirmation email. I've tested it and the emails are going out. We think there's a spam trap set at these providers and they are blocking the emails. There is some discussion that this is a problem at other PhP forums as well. I've worked with some people and the only work-around is to use a more personal email service. This makes me very not happy, but I'm not finding a quick solution.

Let me add to Jean's comments that I've found across many services like hotmail, yahoo, gmail etc that their spam filters are actually horrible. I have had them all accept some mail from a certain site yet other messages get caught as spam. Even with filters set up to catch certain things (like say the "[MI]" troopers start subject lines of emails to me) some of the messages still end up in the spam folder.

All I can guess is there is a certain group of words maybe the spam filter is focusing on, and don't matter how many times you set up a filter or say "this is not spam" it doesn't matter.

But, almost all of these provides recommend you put the email address of the company in your address book, which will definitively tell the site allow *anything* from that address through. Of course this means ADB having to do as many have done and provide the email address the confirmation will be coming from.

Silly note: When setting up this account I had a hell of a time getting the confirmation codes, the server mongoose publishing uses was blocking all the confirmation emails sent to "mongooseinfantry@mongoose.com" :shock:

I find it impossible to register for the Federation Commander forum. I've tried my gmail account, my Hotmail.com account and even my Hotmail.ca account...nothing...no email containing an activation key. Checked spam folder/junk mail folder...nothing. I get the your account has been created but that's where it ends. Very frustrating.

Jean, if you have an opportunity could you try that with me, too? I registered with the same user name as I use here (mdauben) but I never received an activation email so I'm still out of luck.

Jean, I also tried to join the Federation Commander forum. It has my user name "Steve Johnson", but I never received the activation email. I have a Yahoo account, and have checked the spam/junk mail folder regularly. If you can assist with this, I would be grateful.
