Sekhmet Cruiser from LC's Novel

That ship design originated in the defunct Sierra Babylon 5 flight sim, which i believe was set during the Dilgar War.

I have got some pics of the fighter which went with it as well as Yolu, pak'ma'ra and Hurr ships they designed as well, however rather than i upload all of those i suggest just looking here

http://planetside.firenebula.com/greatmachine/

and look at Issue 1, its B5wars magazine but includes pics of all many of the ships designed for the game.

I never really bought the whole Narn-sell-EA-lasers thing.
It was shown to us in In The Beginning.

I mean we have lasers now and we couldn't work out how to build a massive laser cannon-o-doom in the next two hundred years...
It was just the Heavy Lasers we got from the Narn, we didn't have the fusion tech to crank up the power enough yet.

...and had to wait for a bunch of skin-head reptiles (who learnt how from a bunch of fanheaded imperialists) to show us how?

Narn are not reptiles. In fact, they are closer biologically to Earth marsupials and giraffes. :)

I think the battle level Sekhmet looks good. Now all we need is a mini-hint, hint.

What I meant by Jha-dur starts to appreciate them is she takes one as her flagship when her Mishakar is still being repaired. But on the flipside, maybe she doesn't like them as how that battle turns out.

I thought the first battle with the Hyach would be a cool battle to try and make a scenario off of(Of coarse there are no Hyach in Acta yet).

You mean this ship,or?

sekhmet.jpg

that`s a Dilgar vessel from Sierra`s aborted B5 game, damned idiots cancelled it.

i always imagined that was the one LC meant when he talked about it.... i`m reading it for the third time atm, just starting the EA relief of Markab. :D :D :D :D

Whilst I admit that its been a while since i have watched ItB but as I recall all they say is that the Narn are supplying the EA with Centauri origin weapons, no mention of what sort. As the Heavy laser is not in itself a Centauri weapon it would not have been supplied plus with the increasing emphasis on the Centauri not using beams offering up such weapons in trade would seem a little strange in itself...

As for the Narn non-reptilian origins... well I was making a sort of ill-informed "we don't have to get it from them" type of statement (ok... I forgot...)

interesting - where is that from?

this is the " official model" for the sekhmet. i don´t know if it is canon. You can find it on B5tech.com

http://www.b5tech.com/miscracesgroups/Dilgar/dilgarcruiser.html

and i have this seen in the B5 mod "the babylon project" for freespace 2.

so any chance of making one then :)

pssssst....not so loud.  or they delete this treat, also. because...its ME. 8)

I suppose one could argue that the Centauri don't use beams any more and are just getting rid of stuff they dn't use relying on their own style weapons. Sounds a bit foolish given how deadly beams are in the show but perhaps one drunken decision by a the head of the fleet

Just as an aside on the whole Narn selling lasers thing, acording to B5 Wars (yeah yeah, go ahead and give me the usual 'ACTA is not B5Wars' lecture, but I'll still go with B5Wars fluff any day for its JMS sanctioned cannoney goodness ;)) the Narns didnt sell EA lasers, they just sold them BETTER lasers.

EA DID have lasers in the Dilgar War era and presumably before that, the weapon that they got off the Narns is specifically the HEAVY laser (the original Nova is in B5Wars (and in LCs novel (which is I suspect rather heavily based on B5Wars....) was armed with medium lasers as were several other ships, not till late in the Minbari war did the first Heavy lasers make their appearances....

I'm fairly well versed in B5wars fluff, and do generally prefer it to the Mongoose stuff. However this still doesn't fit with the idea of selling centauri weapons so as to avoid being targeted themselves. I guess they could have given the EA a nudge in the right technological direction, but I doubt the weapon was physically supplied.
