He would get rid of Grandfather, there is no need for a meddling psionic
megalomaniac in the universe.

Keep the old muppet alive.

If Yas got killed, his family archive would have knitted up a new Yas, and then he'd have come back for vengeance.

Death by monologue.

SEVEN's main base seems all nice and luvvy-duvvey but, unlike Unlce Vlen, you do get to see the inside of his head and that's not a nice place to be. So he's out.

Grandfather....less sure. On the one hand he seems to have the best attitude towards the younger races, but on the other he does have a tendancy to meddle, and how he'd change when (if) he was the last one left is difficult to predict. Tempted to shoot him.

Of course you don't know that his archive is destroyed.

It's a fair bet that it was because whilst the place may have been a trap it was prepared as a trap whilst SEVEN was outside (so it couldn't have been relocated out) - it was found kind of by accident, so there'd be no reason to have relocated it.

Can't see him really bothering with vengeance. Dispassionately noting that you know too much and having you taken out as a loose end, maybe - but I can imagine him doing that post campaign anyway.

Probably wouldn't shoot him, more as an insurance policy against any other sons or leftover hegemonizing swarm weapons systems.

No, seriously. He'd know that the characters managed to kill him once, and they'd probably do it again next time if they had a chance.

Imagine every star of every system the characters visit suddenly going nova. Just because they're there. :)

Nuke the star system from orbit. It's the only way to make sure....

"Hey, we've just had a letter from the Imperial Duke!"

"Yeah?"

"Yeah....he's sending us on an all-expenses paid holiday to Zhodane. Isn't that nice of him?"

One week later ...

"Sorry, the job's off. The Duke's been vapourised. So's the entire star system he was in at the time. They found a message in imperishable metal one parsec away. It reads 'Nobody likes a smart aleck. -- Grandfather.'"

Reminds me of the message from the Eschaton in Stross' Singularity Sky.

I am the Eschaton. I am not your god.
I am descended from you, and I exist in your future.
Thou shalt not violate causality within my historic light cone. Or else.

Of course if the players did align with SEVEN then they could be tasked to manipuulate Dulinor into assassinating Strephon and attempting to seize the throne.

Sets up a MegaTravellergame in which the Rebellion War is interrupted by SEVEN's hordes pouring out of the Vargr extents

SEVEN: "I've got a plan to create even more disruption!"

Agents: "Uh huh?"

SEVEN: "I've created this complex computer virus that can....."

Agents: "Oh, no. No, no, no. Trust us on this one."
