SD - Anyone running a game?

I'm making convention adventures as well as a weekly game, and I was wondering if anyone had tips, opinions, or experiences to share.

Thanks

Not me, I'm afraid, but I intend to run a one-off as a break from Dredd at some point. I'd be interested to know the sort of thing you're considering, and am sorry I can't offer any Stront-specific pointers.

Well i'm going to start running one in a few weeks, so here are my initial thoughts.

1. Character creation ought to provide plenty of plot hooks, what with Allies, enemies and contacts.

2. if your players have not read the comics (or at least not recently) loot those, frankly I intend to use a vaguely disguised version of the Papa Porka story as part of my intro, as it reminds players they are second class citizens, then introduces combat.

3. Bounties and Warrants, best scenario book I've read in a while, even with the typos.

3. The Movies, obviously all the films mentioned in the rulebook, but additionally things like the Magnificent 7, or just about any 'small unit action' war movie. Or AvP, Aliens, really anything you want.

4. Regular traveller adventures could even be used with a little changing.

SD is character driven bear that in mind and you can't go far wrong.

Apologies if any or all of this is obvious, tbh I'm writing it as much to put my own thoughts in order!

Interested to see how it goes.

:D

The Papa Porka approach is a good starting place. The high-and-mighty norms sneering at the 'dirty freaks' at embarkation are screaming and crying as the pirates begin to shove them out the ship's airlock.

Then the Stronts get loose and the dying starts in earnest. The 'range finder' option on some blasters is a cool plot device to consider...
