I remember back in the old days the fun we had inflicting this random list of disasters or benficies from the drink known as scout brew. does anyone know where I can find a copy of the original rules....or updated for that matter

Scout Brew originated in an issue of Traveller's Digest, from DGP.

I never knew that

I wish someone would reprint them in a compendium or suchlike
as the prices people ask for individual issues on ebay are ludicrous
waaaaaaaaay expensive

Scout Brew was always one of the Iconic things in Traveller though,as was "Tokaj" wine (as drunk by the emperor no less, in fact, it was drunk by no one else cause he reserved all the bottles for himself :lol: )

So cool in fact it inspired me to try and think up some more alcoholic brews for Traveller,

I made some in the Navy... juice left over from canned peaches+sugar+yeast hidden inside a marked fire-fighting foam cannister to ferment into some wine. Someone always had to go make sure it was vented. It would have been tolerable except some sea-puppies on their first cruise ever thought it'd be fun to drink it out on Gonzo Station....they didn't filter out the dregs ( too eager .the fools ), drank it all, crap on the bottom and everything. ...naturally they got sick and ruined the fun for everyone.

There is so much good stuff in old DGP digests (and other DGP products for that matter) that is hard to get ahold of. They go for way too much on ebay. I wish whoever has the rights to the stuff would release a reprint or CD compendium like FFE has done.

Roger can't. Not unless he makes nice with MWM. Which he won't do.

MWM can't do it, unless Roger permits it. But getting Roger to permit it requires Roger curing a cranio-rectal insertion about the long term value of the IP.

Since the article is mostly about the jollies to be had at player expense, and a table of possible "when you wake up..." results, it isn't hard to work around.

Some of the other stuff under a DGP masthead is a bit harder to do that with.

Not my business though and I think, ultimately, we jsut have to respect his decisions
