Science Help Needed!

Hi guys,

I am working on a little something at the moment, and I have hit the limit of my own science (think running full tilt into a brick wall...).

I know what I want to achieve, but I don't have the background knowledge (or, I dare say, the vocabulary) to put it down in words.

So, I figure someone here will know :) Is there anyone with a decent knowledge of theoretical physics who can spare the time to swap a couple of emails?

There's this physicist guy from telly - see http://www.facebook.com/ProfessorBrianCox

It might be a good idea to contact him - he always seems enthusiastic about promoting science to the masses - no pun intended :)

Well, my explanations are never as good as I want them to be (and my knowledge level of particular domains might be more along the lines of indecent), but willing to help... (PM for email)

Perhaps if you put the idea of what you are after here people could have a better idea of what was needed and could offer or suggest help that is more suited to your needs.

You could PM PaulSnow on these forums. He's a university senior lecturer in physics. Not sure he qualifies exactly as "theoretical" as his area is in acoustics and he gets his hands dirty with kit and such. I'll let him know about this thread at lunch today.

Sure. Happy to help. Geology and planetology are my specialties, but I know some physics and astrophysics too. Don't ask me about football, though.
