SAS

Wow, chill guys, I only wanted to talk about the SAS, why don't you go take your unwanted bitterness elsewhere?

No. :)

But back on track, the SAS are in beast mode. Good stuff.

We got Wave 2 a week or so back, and My MEA are shaping up. The EFTF's Warrior makes me nervous, and The Shadows are Uuuuuuuugly.

So. You use the Sas yet? Snipers or saws?

for this reason i had to fit my own brake pads and disks tonight taking cost down from over £200 to £25, just so i can feed my gaming habbit !

Just hope they work.... 8) Maybe tie a breeze block to your car so you have an emergancy anchor or something....

SAS are why i opted for EFTF over USMC, well that and the Shadows are ugly to my eye, LBH

I wasn't impressed by the Shadows, they are a bit ugly and on the ones in my FLGS the paint seemed a bit off

lol tis ok my dad was on hand if needed he trains garage staff on how to fit break systems and works on rally cars, :) if it wasnt for him running a car wouldnt be as affordable. i now have breaks for the first time in like 4 months :D yay. oh and lights :D

now all i need is the rules and wave 3 and the world will be mine :D

The Shadows are butt ugly, even worse than the humvee. Give me a Warrior any day!!!

Part of the reason why I went for Brits, also one of my mates loves the idea of USMC and has a humvee fetish, and another wanted to collect PLA. After having played nids in 40k, and Russians in WW2 I really didn't feel like collecting another horde army which ruled out the MEA. I am also pro-european so like the idea of a EFTF (of course it has to have the UK in the driving seat thou  )

Hmmm myabe your Dad should be convinced to do something to stop your foolish attempt at world domination using 28mm figures....

Like a parent with a physically deformed child I just can't help but love my Shadows. Especially when they're blowing things up! :D

Well as Pietia said on the evocommand forum (although he was talking about gladiators): The shadows are certainly ugly enough to be a USMC vehicle!

I opted for USMC as my primary force because I'm a big fan of all the technology and wanted to rain firery death from predators and recon marines.

My second choice (although it was very close to first) was the EFTF, the only isue was that at the time I made the decision, so many fellow gamers wanted to play as the EFTF. My reasons why three words: Challengers, SAS, gurkahs, need I say more?

On the MG/sniper choice. It'll depend entirely on the situation but I'd be keen on a one of each split normally. That way one unit can be in a kind of overwatch position and suppress any nearby units by taking out the leader while the others advance. Failinf that having a sniper take out commanders while the rest of the squad holds off the hordes is also something I see my SAS as doing.

I quite like the look of the Shadows - they're ugly, but in the same way an A-10 or an Apache is.

Oh don't get me wrong, I like the shadows, they grow on you just like any other corps issued equipment. It may be ugly but it get's the job done and done well.

NOOOO!!!!!! The A-10 and Apache follow the Tiger rule of military equipment, they are brutally ugly and have tons of pure menace....

The Shadows however look like they where designed by a 5 year old who has just found out what a ruler does.... No menace what so ever in the design.

True, but like the Apache and the A-10, Function over Form FTW!

Didn't know that IKEA stocked CKEMs! Will have to go some time o check that one out!

Oh and Cordas, how are CKEM launchers not brute force? CKEM missiles in real life are much more savage than an actually tank round. The sheer amount of Kinetic energy that is focused in such a small area results in the missile basically peeling the armour away, it's not a nice weapon at all.

I am not talking about its weaponry, I am talking about the asthetic design of the vehicle..... It has no menace..... You only have to look at a Tiger tank, Apache or A-10 and know that its one hell of a ass kicking machine.... You look at a Shadow and as EP said it looks like a family returning from Ikea with a couple of book shelves strapped to the roof.... How is that intimidating?

There is a huge difference between a pitbull and a poodle, one looks like its going to rip your throat out if it gets half a chance, the other looks like an accident in a hairdressers.... both are hunting dogs and bread to kill, but which are you automaticaly cautious of if you see one running towards you?

The poodle. Anyone dressed like that has to be packing some serious equipment to be able survive looking like that!

Point taken though it really does look like a family trip to IKEA or ever a ski trip. Still if you actually know what they're packing you're automatically cautious of it.
