That's awesome thanks for sharing!

Anymore previews like this would be very welcome... also previews of the ship reference cards!

[Edit: I'm confused by some of the weapon arcs. If a weapon is both P & S, is that not the same as T? I noticed some of the weapons on these two ships are F,P,S and A,P,S and if I understand correctly that makes them 360 degree weapons]

[Edit 2: Oh, nevermind I just realized I was confused between the standard ACTA 90 degree arcs and the new ones they are adding to this addition which are 180 degrees]

depends

if a weapon is A, P, S - that means it can fire to the left and right of the ship but not into the Front (F) arc.

Turret means can fire in any direction

Ya, just realized that. I was confused those arcs with the new 180 degree ones that are being added for this edition (i.e. FH, PH, SH, AH)

Should (hopefully) be agile enough for that not to be a problem. Romulans cloak, Klingons manouvre like something scalded - it's generally the federation in their flying milk-saucers that have to worry about being flanked...

So the D6 can't fire into the aft arc? That hurts.

Not with primary weapons but it does have 2 dice of drones which can be fired into any arc.

As a hangover from SFB some of the arcs on the Klingon ships end up a bit odd - often having lots of point defence in the rear which I think is important in that game......

Over on the ADB BBS, SVC noted that the D6 and KR firing arcs have been fixed (which, if I were to guess, means they are back to the A,P and A,S arcs the provisional KR in that old blog entry had; but I can't say for certain).

I hope not too many things like this get "fixed" after the playtesting - although in this case looks like an error as it was different in the blog.

SVC did say that it was "just plain wrong" (i.e. the D6's side phasers are supposed to be able to fire aft), so.

That said, I would not at all be surprised to see an errata file show up sooner or later; as much as people do their best to iron out all of the bugs in a given product, there always seem to be a few which end up slipping through the cracks...

Quick questions...

1) Does the rulebook include a “painting guide”/ typical colour schemes / etc ?
2) Will Mongoose/ADB do transfers for logo / registry / names ?

1) The ADB website has painting guides for all of their minis located HERE!
While these were dsesigned forhte lead / pewter Starline 2200 / Starline 2400 range of miniatures, they are just as applicable to the new line of Starline 2500 resins.

2) No one has stated that they will be producing decals as of yet. The three producers of decals forhte Starline 2400 range have chosen to get out of the business and hopefully someone is ready to step into the gap.
Only time will tell.

The draft of the rulebook that I have seen has space for a building & painting section.

I would suggest transparent decal paper. It is probably the best for putting names and numbers onto white Federation ships. If you want to put light coloured declas onto dark coloured ships - use white decal paper, but you will have to cut out the decals very carefully.

does anyone know what kind of decal material i should buy for a laser jet printer.

This may be something for those of you in the UK. They have transfer paper clear/white for laser or inkjet. http://www.3vwargames.co.uk/prodindex.htm
