Russian Forces: T-95, Tunguska, T-90 and BMP "3"

Hello everyone! I am just registered to the Forums here. My Name is Byron and I live in Pensacola, Florida. As far as I know, I am the main promoter of Battlefield Evolution: Modern Combat. If anyone live close to me and plays, please contact me. In any case its great to be here now. I have been playing for a year, but I have only played two games but that is changing because more people are seeing the fun of the game and want to play!


To business: I decided a long time ago to pursue this game in 1:72 scale due to the enourmous ammount of choices availible as far as armor and afvs. I will show just a few pictures of my modern Russian force:





The first picture is my T-95, which was built using an online artist's conception as a point of reference. I used a Revell T-72 as wheel and track assembly. From the fenders up is totally scratch built using styrene, wood and aluminum tubing.

Below that is my T-90 from ACE, 1:72 scale.



Below that is my Rhoden Limited Ed Tunguska Air Defense in 1:72




Below those are my ACE BMP-1 Uparmored and BMP Scout that I proxy as BMP 3s because to my knowledge there is not a model yet.

The figure company Orion makes Federal Russian troops, they are soft plastics but they are the latest Russian troops out there for cheap. They also make Chechnyan resistance fighters (Moslems)

and here's my policy on things now with the economy deflation - I don't buy a model over 10 dollars unless its absolutely necessary and thats why I stay with 1:72 scale because I usually can find a good deal and budget is the most important thing when you have to supply all the factions because there isn't enough interest in my area for people to jump in, but that is changing as of recently.

Nice work, love the T-95 conversion. Easy Model have had BMP-3 prepainted plastics on their "coming soon" list for several months, likely cost from £10-£12 quid. I'd also take a look at the Plastic Soldier Review website before getting any Orion Russians. I don't really rate them myself, really soft plastic and poor detail IMO. If you only need a relatively small number you might like to try the Liberation stuff from RH Models. Huge range of 20mm at around 50p each. There's a US stockist but I don't know where offhand.

Iain beat me to the punch - I looking for a 20mm compatible BMP 3 - & nobody makes them - yet... (Imprint has a 28mm compatible model that is very nice)

As above - Trumpeter is planning a BMP 3 in 1/72 for later (no release date listed) this year as part of their 'easy model range' - assembled & prepainted like the rest of the range which already includes the BTR-80 & Stryker - definatley a range to watch

On of my biggest beefs with MC - is that the Russian list includes so much stuff that doesn't have models yet ( Shaun @ S&S is working on a couple for us which are looking way cool ) & since my choice of scale is 'heroic 28mm' there is even less & there will be even longer lead times before I can play with the new toys...

So for me, I'm using a more contemporary force (no BTR-Ts, BMP-Ts, T-95s) & Pietia's cards

I know about Syr Hobbes selection of Liberation Miniatures. Great guy. I know about the UK guy too, RH Models - great stuff too. I am really getting into the soft plastics aspect strickly because of my budget. I am having to come up with at least 4 factions - and I will sacrifice quality to get people interested so they can pick up their own faction.

I loved making the T-95, and I have started work on the BMP-T and the BTR T-55 with the twin 30 mm cannons is on the drawing board.
