RuneQuest/HeroQuest Mini's

Does anyone have any recomendations for Mini's that are good for RQ?

I know about Lance and Laser's HQ line (and plan on getting some).

Though I have a handful of old Citadel 25mm RQ minis. I guess moving forward I would prefer the 28/30mm scale as that seems to be standard now.

Any none Gloranthan specific ones that fit the world would be nice as well. I wouldn't mind some cheap plastics to bulk out the collection if anyone knows of any.

Thanks.

check Old Glory for their 25mm historical range. Should be able to find good viking types, as well as ancients of a lot of kinds, that should work well

Reaper have quite a few useful figs in their range that measure up well against the Lance & Laser figs.

I personally think the orcs from their Warlord range work well as Uz but others (not wanting to start this one again...) may not agree. They look more like the Uz as illustrated in the Hero Wars books, possibly.

I think makes an ideal ZZ Death Lord.

Dwarven Forge do a small range of pre-painted resin figs, the orcs of which fit well alongside the old Tabletop Games trolls (unfortunately these are almost impossible to get hold of now). But that makes them quite small compared to L&L etc.

I spent quite some time looking for Glorantha-specific figs a while back - think I have the details on a Word doc somewhere. PM me if you want a copy.

Every time someone buys a collectible miniature, god kills a hamster.

That being said, if its for glorantha, the D&D stuff tends to be look way too teenage-rebellion-fantasy to really be a decent fit. They can be found for cheap though, which makes it easy to get a bit of everything.

Well I had been avoiding buying collectable mini's, but if that is the case...

Do I have to buy them new or does he kill another hamster if I buy them on the secondary market?

Heartily seconded. I like Reaperminiatures so much I order their stuff from Texas to Finland!

The dragons of Sandra Garrett (I think) are second to none, and those people actually do good female characters (as opposed to the balloon-breasted, scantily clad cheesecake one usually sees).

If you're looking for figures in GW scale, then yeah, Reaper makes some absolutely stunning characters. They are kinda pricey, but I'd say well worth it

For historicals in that size, look at Foundry too. Lots of curious bits there, that may be usefull

Is the GW scale the 28/30mm scale? Is that not pretty much the standard these days? It has been a number of years since I bought mini's.

The only GW game I ever collected was roughly 6mm. Then they changed the bases on me. Bastards.

yeah, its ostensibly 28mm but in practice anywhere from that to 32+. GW, Reaper and Privateer generally fit together decently.

And Space Marine for the win. 6mm is Cthulhu's second scale (15mm being his first)
