Rumor Control - No unit stats in the rulebook?

Can anybody confirm or deny the rumor that the Bevo rulebook will have NO unit stats.

Therefore the only way to get unit stats (short of copying a buddy's cards or some warm heart soul downloading them to the web) is to buy all the figs for each release?

Is this a NON-STARTER/ Deal Breaker for anybody esle?

I'm looking forward to supporting the game but if the rulebook has no unit stats - I will strongly reconsider.

I know that at this point it is too late for a change - even if they wanted to but.....

Please tell me the Mongoose crew are not going this route ... PLEASE.

lol chill

the cards are in teh boxes, yes, but then its one of those games your going to wish to play at tournies, and there is already lots of alternative cards available on the web, for them games that use non MGP figs.

personaly doesnt bother me, il be getting a load of boxes in, and if any body needs a spare card they can have it as far as i am concerned.

il be getting like 6 boxes of pla, i only need one card, so the problem may not exist see if your lgs will sell the cards seperate and buy them of players or see if they can get donations. many many many ways to skin a cat if it is realy that important to have a skinned cat.

ultimatly if you dont get the prepainted figs and play in BF-evo tourneys your only cheating yourself.

Apparently the stats will be on the website. The lack of stats in the rulebook is a much bigger problem for me than the quality of the minis - I like to be able to plan out my armies and know what I'll be fighting against. and while I know there'll likely be non-official sites I can look at, I'd prefer there to be an official source too.

You'll be able to find unit cards in Signs & Portents as the miniatures get released. Once the figures are released the unit description on the website will indicate which S & P contains the card.

You might want to keep hold of two in case you lose one :)

i'll be a somewhat casual player, so its a-ok with me. I'll use what I buy, and not really venture too far out of what mongoose produces, so I won't need stat cards for units i havne't purchased. If I really do, i'll get them online, i'm sure.

That's great to know, thanks.

Well add that to another satisfactory mongoose response.

Although I would have accepted no stats in the rules simply on the count of business. But this is a good trade off. The book having no stats is simply part of the way the game is, releases happen monthly so the army lists are constantly being added to, not to mention it's an incentive to buy at least one box of minis.

But with the stats available for free in the free downloadable S&P, players get their stats and at the same time mongoose gets advertisements for their games in S&P.

I have to say that I am now a much happier camper.

The no stat crisis has been averted and the sky is no longer falling :P :

also you avoid the problem of typo's causing problems with arguments of wich is correct, the cards or the book.

and it makes it easier in future to modify units if the a shift of balance happens.

And I still want to see a man portable AT weapon for the USMC. ;)

Although I have to admit those shadows are cheap and downright nasty.

I am such the HAPPY camper :D

- and despite my previous grumblings, I am anxiously awaiting buying the figs!!!

Just wish I lived across the pond so I could mix it up on the table w/ Dr E.
(he's grown on me too - in a good way)

Perhaps the cards from the boxed sets could be sold as spare parts like they do for some components already (bases etc.). I'm thinking more of SST:EVO here as I don't yet know if I'll be replacing my MI with prepaints. And it's pretty unlikely that I'll be picking up any more Arachnids (got hordes of them already) with the possible exception of prebuilt tankers and the like.

bit early now, but maybe in a year or 2s time they could produce a deck of cards with multiples in.

maybe as an update if they need to make any changes, bit like PP do.

what about offering a free card with a proof of purchase/UPC + postage? Reaper offers "swag points" on every blister that can be turned in to buy additional warcards. Customer pays postage.

At this point - having seen both - I prefer Hiro's cards - and the text is verbatim :!:

Keep up the good work Hiromoon - we appreciate the revisions and the chance to play test upcoming units :P

Check it out - I've been promoted to stoat - better than weasel
Ooops - I forgot, the first rule of Mongoose forum rankings is "don't talk about Mongoose forum rankings"
