Rules check on Klingon shields

More accurately from this you are saying it halves the number of Hits against the shields. It does NOT do anything against those that actually Penetrate with a natural 6.

Example:

2AD of Phaser-1 at 4" range. Roll 6, 6 = 2 hits creating 4 hull hits.

2 AD of Phaser-1 at 4" range. Roll 4, 5 = 2 hits, half = 1 hit which creates 2 Shield hits from multi-hit.

correct?

Correct. Klingon shields don't do anything to shots that slip through.

I've read that Matt confirmed weapon systems were individual lines and you may assign targets individually with them but can you please point out where he stated you roll damage individually for each weapon system as I (and apparently many others) have clearly missed that?

I didn't say he had ruled on this specific issue. He has ruled to say that targets are assigned to each 'weapon system' and that special actions disable 'weapon systems' and that critical hits can disable 'weapon systems' so it only follows on that you attack with weapon systems.

By all means lump your dice together to speed up play but you are loosing out by believing this cry of "OMG it's too complex if I have to roll a few more dice".

I don't read all threads on this forum, generally only the titles that appear of interest. With many threads going off topic there is no doubt I miss certain statements which I would otherwise be interested in. I assumed, from the tone of certainty in your post, that you were aware of such a piece of information that I had missed. However, it transpires that - with the greatest respect - you are simply offering an opinion of rule interpretation in exactly the same way as others have offered opinions that contrast yours. I think such discussions are good for the game as they stimulate (most of us) to examine alternate views and the reasoning behind them. As a result we may change our original point of view I know I often have! - BUT I think it must be time now for someone with authority (which no-one in the discussion to date possesses) to step up and clarify things BEFORE people start practicing for, or taking part in, tournaments where people with different interpretations will probably meet.

As an individual, I don't mind which course is adopted and I doubt members of my club will be too bothered either way but we really do need a ruling on this as it's become a case of 'opinion ping-pong'.
