Rule Question: Smoke - cover for the smoking ship?

Hi all,

stupid question, but does Smoke provide cover for the smoking ship itself?
Or does the smoking Ship just break LOS with its trailing Smoke?

Franz,

Ships make smoke while they move forward or turn. The ship making smoke is NOT covered by the smoke, it's the ships following behind the smoke that are screened. Basically, the one ship that is smoking is 'on point' and eligible to be engaged by the enemy while making smoke.

Since they are in front of the smoke, the ship making smoke can fire all weapons without penalty (except back through their own smoke trail).
