Ruins of Glorantha

Ruins of Glorantha has showed up on the upcomming release list for April - any word on what this is?

probably something similar to Ruins of Hyboria, that is description of long forgotten and isolated sites.

I heard it was the minutes from the last MRQ strategy meeting...

Just kidding, if this is any good, it's exactly the kind of supplement I'd buy. Any draconic/EWF locations in there that might survive into the third age?

This was up on one of the website that allow preorders. I don't know how accurate it is:

From the Red Ruin of Tanewal to the ghostly port canals of Narilor, Glorantha is dotted with countless remnants of the Great Darkness and the Ages before. These places were the footfalls of gods and heroes, locations where local legends were born and myths were shaped. In time some of these wonderful events will fade into obscurity, but their echoes will be felt in the ruins they left behind.

Ruins of Glorantha is a closer look at several different locations of some import in the vast lands of this wondrous and unique world. This book explains what can be found or accomplished there, who might call these places home, and the sorts of quests and adventures Games Masters can create using them. When combined with a step-by-step method in which readers can create their own important ruins, Ruins of Glorantha is a detailed and useful tool to create short exciting scenarios or long lasting campaigns in the wilds of Glorantha.

Sounds good though!

Sounds better.

Oh-oh.

Rules for creating ruins? I dread to think.

It's either
(a) A misprint, or mis-transcrtiption for "Runes of Glorantha" - A set of magic rules which are more Gloranthan in flavour than the generic ones in the main rule book
or
(b) A set of essays by old Gloranthan Grognards complaining that Glorantha has never been the same since people started using Arduin Grimoire/RQ1/RQ2/RQ3/Pendragon Pass/Hero Wars/Hero Quest/MRQ to play there, and (since this is a Mongoose product) the Mongoose team provide tips and techniques to allow you to capture the flavour of White Bear & Red Moon/Arduin Grimoire/RQ1/RQ2/RQ3/Pendragon Pass/Hero Wars/Hero Quest using MRQ. (prompting people to complain that Ruins of Glorantha has wrecked Glorantha, which was better expressed in "Gloranta:The Second Age"

This part is very similar to Ruins of Hyboria (for Conan) which is considered as one of the best book for Conan.

Sounds as if it could be very cool. Anyone know who is writing it?
Bryan Steel I think

Not sure if this is on Bry's 2Do list or not. Its been on mine (briefly) and may even pass onto Joshua Cole; either of them should be able to confirm, but its definitely a Gloranthan book in the making.

Mongoose Strategy Meeting on Glorantha indeed. Tsk! Shame on such cynicism! :)
