Returning player from the B5 era.

Anyways I purchased both Noble Armada and Starfleet over the last month(Starfleet two days ago, Armada three weeks ago). I have the starter squadrons for Federation, Klingon(who'll be my main fleet like the Narn were during the B5 era), and Romulans. The other two squads are for variety and to try and get other people to try the game. The store only had one of the expansion races for Noble Armada so I don't have any ships for that at this time. I'm debating what races to get for Noble Armada. One one hand I love missles and rockets but I want to get friends into the game and a race(well House) which pretty much ignores shield rules might not be a good race for helping others learn the game. Probably go for some Hawkwood ships and the guys(I'm forgetting their faction name, need to double check) who had the red painted ships as I liked the design for them.

Anyways a few questions:

1. Is there a cheat sheet online somewhere to print up so I'm not flipping through the book trying to remember what each trait and special action does? Sometimes I fall into B5 terms so it'll be helpful to have the sheet as a reminder of differences. Also it'll be useful if each player has a sheet to look at rather than handing the book between players constantlyl.

2. Do we have a printable sheet for ship stats somewhere? Not a list of stats(don't want to take Mongooses sales away from them) but one where we can fill the information in? Ideally with some sort of spot where we can mark what weapons have and haven't fired?

3. During the B5 era I never got a mat for the game. We just played on the table. I think I'd like to get a space mat for flavor purposes(it just looks nicer on a space background than a brown table). I didn't see any for sale at the Warstore(where I usually purchase random stuff like that) so I was wondering if anyone had some good online suggestions where I can order one(probably a US distributor so I don't get hit by international S&H)?

Rules questions will most likely come up after I've played a game or two.

1) http://limeydragon.com/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=490 has the most complete one.

2) Official ship record cards on the way. Think there's at least one guy on the forum doing stop-gaps. I've a generic stat-less sheet hosted here http://pdfcast.org/tag/acta-sf (there's extra space to write in a weapons fired track on each) which might do, plus some other bits and pieces.

3) Hotz Mats http://www.hotzmats.com/ and Corsec Engineering http://corseceng.com/fabric-mats/ come to mind.

Hotz are nice mats, mine if fairly old and still looks great.

How big is that.

... thats what she said!

In all honesty, Im glad I found this post. I've never heard of this company, and I plan on making a purchase this evening now thanks to you guys!

That mat, even if it is "old" is absolutely beautiful.

For "standard" SFB/FC Games, its 1 Inch HEXES right? (hey, might as well cover all my bases! lol.)

The matts are great and they are all made to order. I have several with and without hexes.

The new 2500 line has 2" bases and even the older line ships need a little more room that 1" to fit. I have all my mats at 2" hexes and it works out great.

For "standard" SFB/FC games which use miniatures or the Megahex 1" counters, it's 1" per hex. The small counters are half-inch hexes.

Yeah, I like the look of the Hotz maps better anyways. I'll probably order one at the end of this month.
