Hi there!

With reference to "a mighty tome that will be the definitive guide to Fritz Leiber’s great setting" (State of the Mongoose, 2008) will this follow the lines of:

a) Green Ronin's "The Pirate's Guide to Freeport"; or

b) A Compilation of existing information from "RQ Lankhmar" and "RQ Nehwon" - as well as potentially new material?

Another quick question: will this new guide include an appendix for "Dragon Warriors" - seeing as that the original Dragon Warriors Role-Playing Game made reference to TSR's "Lankhmar" as an alternative setting?

Thank you.

Good question! I'd also like to know what this definitive Nehwon tome is all about. It seems to me that the two books "Lankmar" and "Nehwon" are the definitive tomes. I own "Lankmar" and want to buy "Nehwon". "Nehwon" is no longer available from this website, but there are a couple of game stores close to me that still have it. Will this new tome simply be a reprint of Lankmar and Nehwon in one volume or will it be completely different? If I already own both Lankmar and Nehwon, will it be worth it to get this new tome?

While Lankhmar and Newhon are pretty decent supplements they still leave a LOT of room for deatails about the setting.

They are a bit minimalist. In particular they are really low on setting specific crunch. Think of how the authors of Hawkmoon an Elric took every hint from the source material and ran with it making up stuff. Clearly this has not been done with Lankhmar, and it should.

Here is some stuff I miss, which could appear in the definitive Lankhmar book. (recovered from an old post of mine):

- Stats for the characters of the stories! (We only get Fafhrd and the Mouser in the Lankhmar book. What about Mannimark and Skullick? Pshawri and Mikkidu? Hisvin? Hisvet? Aifret? Sif? Kreeshka? Krovas? Hristomilo? Eyes of Ogo? Countess Kronia of the 77 secret pockets?

- Stats for generic Lankhmarian NPC (e.g. novice thief, fat merchant, church raketeer, haggard looking priest, unctuous priest, dancer, thug, mingol sailor, guardsman, etc.)

-a large map of Lankhmar, maps of the various districts.

- Rules for making guilds interesting (adapted from the GM's guide)

- A lot of stuff on the Thieves Guild, with floorplans of the guild

- More on cults with some sample temples and plot hooks

- More on the city sewers and Lankhmar Below!

- More on magic: more black magic spells, white mages, the ice magic of Kakkht, Kleshite Earth magic, etc.

- Princess Frixx and her elemental realm of air

- Symorgians as monsters and more on Symorgia's magic
