Emperor Mongoose
Range band Distant is >50000km, up to unlimited range. If we assume that we are talking about inside a star system, we can limit that to say 1 lightyear (distance to Oort cloud).
So my sensors are just as good at detecting someone lurking in the Oort cloud as someone at 150% of GEO.
And I can attack them both with missiles that reach the Oort cloud in 5 rounds.
Shouldn't we have an additional range band or two?
Say:
...
Very Long (50 000km): Max energy range.
Distant (100 000km) : Max missile range.
Very Distant (300 000km = 1 ls): Max sensor range.
Far: Out of range.
Or something traditional like increasing the difficulty of the sensor/attack task for each doubling of the range over 50 000 km?
