Quick Thought

Just watched a certain episode of the rebooted Star Trek prequel.
Let's please never do a musical version of Traveller. I think I'd rather play a Marine facing off against xenomorphs first.

I once tried to do a musical adventure in a Changeling: The Dreaming campaign -- it was PBEM so the players would have time to work on their lyrics (and no one actually needed to sing), but it turned out only 2 of us enjoyed that sort of wordplay.

Of course Traveller has a slightly different feel than Changeling...

I know. Less the delightful sounds of feet shuffling across a wooden stage, less taps beating out syncopated rhythms in unison, and more the staccato sound of gunfire and cries of "Cover me!"

Just watched it today. Went in with trepidation after seeing this thread. Was pleasantly surprised.
I can say with confidence that I would rather watch that episode again than almost any episode of ST: Discovery, especially after season two.
Granted a low bar...

I run a Star Trek/Wars crossover campaign using Savage Worlds. After losing their NPC commanders my players came up with their own songs/lamentations in honour of their fallen captain, Their efforts included a videoed duet and one player singing to his own piano accompaniment. I declared their efforts to be best selling and they get occasional (in-game!) royalties.
