Questions for a Complete Noob

Okay, you've all probably had this post pop up a million times but I have some questions about "A Call to Arms"

I've put on order the two currently available 2nd Ed books (Rulebook and Fleetlists) at my FLGS. I'm not even sure if I can convince any friends to start playing but I really miss playing a space combat game (used to play Full Thrust, Star Fleet Battles, and Babylon 5 Wars).

What miniatures do I use/order for this version of the game ? I can't seem to find an order catalog on the Mongoose site. Can I use the old Babylon 5 Wars minis ? (in that case do I use Fleet Action of Standard)

Are there any other books or supplements I need to play or start a small campaign with ? Mainly do counters come with the two main books, or is there a seperate book for those. Are there any special markers or battlefield condition bits I need ?

Is there anyone who plays in Victoria BC Canada :P

And final question, any of you chaps have extra ships for sale ? I'm trying to get some used ones (cheaper then new) to help quickstart my game. I was given a while back some old B5 Wars Starfuries (I have 6) and a Hyperion, so I guess Earth Alliance is one of the fleets I'll be collecting/building.

Anyways, my name is Nathan, and you'll probably see me posting in the near future.

Have a nice one.

In order:

B5 Wars or Fleet Acction mini's can be used freely. Actually, ACTA mini's are mostly B5 Wars mini's, with Fleet Action fighters. They're just coming into production again through Ironwind Metals, though I haven't seen them on either Mongoose's or Ironwind's websites yet.

The 2nd Edition Fleet and Rule Books are the only ones you need. The rulebook has a (very) limited selection of black and white counters in the back that can be photocopied, but it'd be better to order a Sky Full of Stars Counter Pack. Those can be found in the Babylon 5 section of the Mongoose website, though you'll have to scroll down a bit. Doesn't include all the current ships listed in the Fleet Book, but it has most of them, and you can always proxy.

Can't help you much with the last two, except to say check the Better Player Locater stickied to the top of the forum.

Cool thanks for you input.

I nabbed a relatively cheap copy of the Sky Full of Stars Counters off ebay(with the help of a buddy I should say).
