Question : Undead, major wound and resilience

Guimly

Mongoose
How do you manage undead in combat.
Normally, a character suffering a major wound has to made a resilience test or fall unconscious. If the wound is on the chest/abdomen/head he will die (provide he succeed at his resilience tests) after (CON+POW)/2 rounds from blood loss, trauma ...
OK, but what about the undead ? How do you manage them ?
Do you make just one test to decide if the wounded part is destroyed and that's it ?

If the rules do not state it specifically, use what is given - I guess.. You could do major wounds.

My first post was an assumption. Every game system has rules that are not quite covered.

I'd use the same rules I've always used.

Undead are immune to pain, functional incapacitation, shocj and similar effects.

Other effects depend on the particular type on undead.

Skeletons:
Impaling weapons do minimum damage.
If a location goes to 0HP it shatters.
Arm shattered means the skeleton drops what it was holding in that arm.
Leg shattered means the skeleton falls over.
Abdomen shattered means it can only pull itself around with its arms.
Chest shattered means it cannot use arms or legs.
Head shattered destroys it.
Any attacks from the ground suffer normal penalties.

Zombies:
Impaling weapons do minimum damage.
If a location goes to 0HP it is rendered effectively useless.
If a location goes to negative normal HPs it is destroyed.
Arm useless means the zombie drops what it was holding in that arm.
Leg useless means the zombie falls over.
Abdomen useless means it can only pull itself around with its arms.
Chest useless means it cannot use arms or legs.
Head destroyed destroys it.
Any attacks from the ground suffer normal penalties.

Mummies:
As Zombies
Mummies can use magic and can cast spells until they are destroyed.
Mummies can use Repair or similar spells to mend useless or destroyed locations.
Mummies tend to be flammable and fire sometimes can be used to set them alight.

Vampires:
If a location goes to 0HP it is rendered effectively useless.
If a location goes to negative normal HPs it is destroyed.
Arm useless means the vampire drops what it was holding in that arm.
Leg useless means the vampire falls over.
Abdomen useless means it can only pull itself around with its arms.
Chest useless means it cannot use arms or legs.
Chest destroyed kills the vampire.
Head destoyed destroys it.
Generally, a location made useless means the vampire will turn to smoke.
Useless head or chest prevents the vampire from turning to smoke.
Vampires regenerate in smoke form.
Any attacks from the ground suffer normal penalties.

Hope that helps.

In the Spellbook there is a rune magic spell called Zombify.

According to the spell description, it creates an ordinary zombie. The zombie can only be terminated by destroying (i.e. inflicting major wounds) on every location. If you destroy all locations except an arm, the arm can continue to crawl along and try and grab you etc.
