Question about Shianlune Bow from "Blood Moon Rising&qu

This might come up in a future game session, since I let the Kai in my group keep the bow, and am planning to confront them with a few Shadows soon. Since I'd give them the Evil subtype, the extra damage from the bow would apply. My question is, if the shadow's 50 % chance to ignore corporeal damage (from the arrows) would still apply, or if the part that the bow's damage "cannot be prevented or reduced by any immunity, resistance or Damage Reduction" also works on the Incorporeal 50 % chance to ignore any corporeal damage, even from magical weapons.

It sounds like the 50% chance is like similar mechanics about shooting blind even if you know where something is (I guess due it it's shadow-y indistnct nature) so this damage reduction is for for inherently missing the target, no matter what you use.

So unless the bow is conferring super accuracy, which does not sound like it does (just some form of holy damage) then the 50% reduction should apply

Good point, I hadn't looked at it like that. So those 50 % are in effect because a Shadow is, on average, not part of our material world 50 % of the time. Heh, that's definitely going to be a nasty surprise. Thanks for the comment, 'wuuf. :D
