Quack I say...Quack

Hey Brian

if you want to get the sarcasm of the ducks right go and read some "Howard the duck" comics (the classic ones, not the newer ones... and avoid the movie!).

Gloranthan ducks are much more like Howard, than like Donald or Duffy.

Cheers

Too bad there wasn't such a book for 3rd age Glorantha. I'd have liked to know more about the retaliation on the Durulz following the failed Starbrow rebellion.

For those of you interested in Ducks in the third age, Stewart Stansfield has written an article about the Dragon Pass Ducks for Issue One of Hearts in Glorantha.

Here's the synopsis;

Rymes and Ribbolds Royall: the kings and queens of the Durulz
by Stewart Stansfield

What did Sartar ever do for us? He built cities, admittedly. With walls. And roads. He united the tribes. He sired a dynasty to rule them. He brought prosperity and became a god to his people. Oh, and he gave the Staff of Lordship to the ducks.

This act recognised and empowered the line(s) of heroic durulz kings and queens that stretched back into misty legend; whose glories and iniquities--be they warlords, mystics, bandits or oionoclasts--were every bit the equal of those of the big beardies in The Fortunate Succession, Salovan's Book of Emperors and The Durengard Scroll.
(Well, maybe.)

In this first installment, three (in)famous names from Wadlewyt's Rymes and Ribbolds Royall are depicted in art, poetry and prose. With HeroQuest and RuneQuest stats for legendary durulz 'Plunder' items.

Great. :D And where and/or when do we find it?

Still working on the fine details of that, but print copies will be available via Lulu.com and pdf via d101games.co.uk and/or RPGNow.com etc.

The release date for the first issue is August 1st, so I'll have printed copies with me at Continuum.

This is an excellent idea and I think Issaries should do the same, so that printed copies would be easily available for everyone.

Thought I would bring this back to the surface as next month we will begin to see some much anticipated Duck action. And not Hot Duck Action either. :P

This book is going to RULE!!!!
