Putting Together a Tournament

OK, I am wanting to organize a tournament the 2nd weekend in March that would be held in Indianapolis, Indiana at a small convention called MavenCon. The con itself is free, so I am wondering who would come if I organized a tounament at the con? I am trying to get a feel for how many people would be willing to come play so that I acn get with the con organizers and tell them how many tables I need. Mongoose has already said they would support it.

Sorry Bubba, I am booked for that weekend. I will be attempting to gain right of way and landing many touches in foil. There's a national tournament in my neighborhood that weekend.

Who knows, it might be the first convention to use the Battle for Sector 14 Tournament Pack.

I'd love to go, but there's an ocean in the way and I'm not strong enough to swim it or rich enough to fly over it.

I would want nothing more than to come out for that event, but I am in Arizona and I can't justify the cost of flying across two time zones for any game. I wish you best of luck!

On a side note, what about GenCon Indy, or a local event called Phoenix Con (probably very similar to MavenCon)? There are both events that span several days and that, that should be worth the trip! I would love to see a presence from MGP there. I know there was a Bab5 event at Phoenix Con last year, and I would like to attend one this year.

Sorry Bubba, don't think it will be in the cards this year. Some day I'd like to make it to a midwest tournament, but I don't think it will be this year.

Would love to but unfortunately I think Try outs for the Renfaire are going to be that weekend. I f i can be there I will. On a side Note Feb 14th-17th Denver is having GhengisCon and we will have an event there. Contact David anlashok for details.

All the details are still up in the air, other than the fact that it would be on Sat. I am just trying to see if there is enough interest to even go forward with it. I know of a couple of folk who aren't on these boards that want to play, so it looks go so far.

Now if we can con Mr. Steele into getting his new tournament pack together we'll be good. :twisted:

I just sent another message to the guy who is pdf-ing the pack for me (I am daft at layout), and an email to the IndyMavens to get more information about possibly having a more dedicated presence at the convention in March.

Who knows, IndyMavens and Mongoose could be friends in the future if I have any say in it. But I cannot promise anything but my co-operation.
