Pulling over an Air/Raft, and other police related questions

Thanks for the replies

Remember that a part of traffic stops is to search the car for possible contraband or for signs of driver intoxication. So even a routine traffic stop, where the ticket aspect could be done in 5 seconds 100m away by a computer, a cop may still want to search the vehicle or question the driver. I imagine that a drone of some kind could be detached from the car to approach the apprehended driver, complete with a full surveillance system plus a communications device so that the driver can speak to the officer. Then, if an arrest or further search is deemed necessary, the offending vehicle will be remotely driven to a landing pad.

If the car flees or has overridden the the autopilot, then a chase ensues.
I guess we've decided that we have several options:
a) disabling foam of some kind, causing the vehicle's ports to clog up and possibly overheat, then the car could be towed
b) EMP pulse, though this may have the problem of a grav car plummeting thousands of feet through a crowded city.
c) I suppose magnetic grappling hooks from the police cars could be used to stop the car, though it would take several police cars (or else they'd get dragged all over the place
d) Boxing them in and forcing them down
e) When all else fails, blowing them into very small pieces with the almost mandatory on board gauss machine guns or missile lauchers.

This happened in a game I was running recently. The characters wanted to get somewhere fast, jumped in their air/raft and sped off.

The pilot got a text message from the ship computer that 100Cr had just been added to their docking fee and a message to stop speeding immediately.
