Psi Corps is Unleashed!

Yeah, but you couldn't get me to paint that white trim around the Starfuries. I wonder if there are any Ultramarine decals small enough??

And what's up with the Chronos frigates? Are they special Psi-Corps ships, or do they represent the "able to use ships from the EA list" part of their rules?

I just can't see much use for a PSICorps fleet.. from a fringe fleet perspective I'd have to go for the Gaim over PSICorps.

I think Psi-Corps will be for "special" gamers, as a second or third fleet (much like Raiders).

I was wondering about the Chronos too, I would have expected to see at least 1 Shadow cloak in there. Apart from that, I like the fleet, can´t wait to see the actual fleet list.

I was always under the impression the Psi Corps fleet would actually be the EarthForce black ops fleet we were promised... what happened to that? Why does the Psi Corps have President Clark's special Omega-X units, anyway? Why is the Shadow Hunter on their list, too? Wasn't it built by black ops people within EarthForce?

The flet list is both Psi Corps and Black ops. I guess it was called Psi Corps because that simply sounds better. Besides, the Psi Corps was in league with the shadow agents within Earthdome (expect for Bester)

Built by Black Ops at the direction of Psi-Corps. To borrow a phrase from a terrific book (and card game) "wheels-within-wheels".

Yeah, I suppose... :?

I think, mainly, it's called "Psi-Corp" fleet because that's more easily identifiable to the show than "Black Ops" fleet (which is pretty generic).

After all, from what I've read in the EarthForce Campaign Book (or was the the Earth Alliance Sourcebook?), the majority of the Black Ops projects were handled by the Psi-Corp anyway.

Nothing in the show suggested that the Shadow Omega's had any connection to Psi-Corps other than that it was working with the Clark Loyalists who were connected with the shadows.

The later Crusade era Black-Ops ships are all post the Telepath War when the Psi-Corps no longer exists (Well except for the Hunter which existed at the time of the Shadow War...).

I believe the fleet is supposed to represent Psi-Corps and Black Ops, shifting more towards the latter at the time line moves on.

It does not exist officially - unoficially, they not only exits, but also have a secret battle fleet. it´s in the unfilmed Crusade scripts...

One would have to wonder where they managed to construct such a fleet...

Shipyards take up space, and require large amounts of resources. Something capable of building a few experimental ships such as the hunter or the first two Victorys could be hidden but something capable of constructing a entire war fleet? Sounds a bit implausable to hide that in Earth space without the active consent of the government...

IIRC, they received most of the fleet during the Clark era - we do know however that Psi-Corps Motherships hide in hyperspace; an area away from the established hyperspace lanes would be a good hyperspace.

besides, space is freakingly big - the Hunters (and its´Shadofuries) were built in a secret asteroid base; guess there could be more (or even a secret station in the empty space between solar systems should be largely undetectable)

There would have to be 4 Shadowcloaks, compared to 2 Chronos. Which might exceed the space required, or the acceptable cost of the ships included.

The Shadow Omegas and Hunter were constructed under the auspices of Earthforce's black ops. Psi corps' largest ship was the mothership. It is only in the Crusade era that we learn of the remnants of Psi Corps acting in concert with the parts of the EA blck ops that operate shdowtech ships.

In the series, they only probably only have a handful of ships, but for the purposes of a wargame, the assumption is made that they have enough to fight engagements.

The in-service dates of the Psi Coprs fleet actually reflect this. If you use ISDs prior to 2259, you will have only motherships, Black Omega squadrons and fighter carriers. Later than that and you start to get the Clarkist shadowtech ships.

The Psicorps sourcebook is full of stacks of background info, during the Minbari war the Minbari wiped out the crew and defenders of an EAS shipyard, Psicorps moved it covertly as EAS thought it was destroyed. They've been preparing for a possible schism or break with Earth for quite some time according to the Psicorps book, it's very worth picking up!
