I dont see why they couldn't have allowed the +1 CQ to go for everyone for Psi Corp. It said they pulled from all the best crews and stuff. why not the best ships from EA too?

I agree. I suspect this has been ruled like this because people could have taken an entire EA list at certain levels and just called it a Psi-Corps list to get the bonus to CQ.Burger said:

How did the ruling of "All ships in a Psi-Corps fleet gain a +1 bonus to their Crew Quality scores, to a maximum of 6" manage to slip through the net anyway? The "best of the best" ruling states that the crews are picked from the best available, and that telepathic messaging keeps them under control and subservient. Why does this ruling not extend to EA ships that have been requisitioned? As far as I can see, the FAQ on this ruling is completely out of order, and seems to be clarified that way to keep the ISA (IA?) players sweet. After all, they too can requisition ships from the LONAW, but they don't get CQ bonuses because the rule states ISA ships, not ships in an ISA Fleet.
I think the problem doesn't lie in the CQ ruling anyway, but in the requisition ruling. It should stipulate that there has to be some fleet choices from the Psi-Corps list before any faps can be used on EA ships.

brainwashing whole shiploads of crew is too much effort - just get someone to self destruct the ship............probably a mixture of the two - sometimes elite crews to carry out difficult missions - other times expendible grunts (no offense) to ...well expend

Personally, I have no problems with the powers that be making rulings to make the game play as intended. To me it's forgivable that sometimes these rules slip through the gaps - it's human nature that people tend to see what they expect to see after all - and I think it's the right thing to correct these mistakes once they are noticed.
The thing that does annoy me however is when they then try to hide the fact that it's an errata, instead of just openly saying "these slipped through playtesting, and these are what they're meant to say". Fortunately, MGP hasn't struck me as being as bad as a certain other gaming company when it comes to this...

Also since Psi Corps is a very small fleet, with only a single fleet as possible allies, i guess our group is going to stick with the +1 to CQ.
The other ally fleet is ISA, and they have a good fleet list themsleves plus they get to take allies from many different fleets.

Are you seriously saying you would not play it now just because a some of your ships would >>shock horror!!!<< only have the same CQ as every other ship of their type? Come on... sure theres an argument for it applying but its hardly reason to not play the fleet unless your a total powergamer who was only going to play it because you you thought it was better than a normal EA fleet....

It will, however, put people off buying the game, seeing as some of the rules are already out of date!
This is quite a big deal, and its making an absolute sham of a great game. These sorts of errors were supposed to be a thing of the past! Did nobody read the Best of the Best rule and think that it needed reworded to state that Psi-Corps ships and only Psi-Corps ships should get the bonus????
