Got my copy in the mail today! :)

First impressions: Love the extra info on Glissom, chock full of adventure seeds and good stuff.

Haven't noticed any changes in the adventures yet but I've only given it a quick readthrough so far.

Good... I want to buy this as well, so let us know your impressions, please!
When you say that you didn't noticed any changes in the adventures are you saying so 'cause you're comparing PoD with the previous edition? (I ask this 'cause I'm new to DW and I never read the previous books).

Yes, I'm comparing it to the original adventure.

I'm impressed with it and the production values are good.

Mine arrived too. It is very cool. I am definitely going to run my Sleeping Elven Prince of Darkness Crystal Gods at some stage.

Have you noted any differences in the adventures? I can't find any.

Can someone explain Chang.....or is Chang also a traditional Glissom name as well as being a traditional Khitain name. :)

Same here, Hal. I'll try to link all the campaings in some way. Now it's time for me to buy Elven Crystals and Prince of Darkness... :D

There is substantially more set up fro Glissom, but nothing noticeable in the adventure itself. I haven't done a line by line analysis.

I always assumed Chang was a foreigner.

Its not hard. My take is:

Sleeping Gods (up to Mungoda's Gold) - levels 1 to 3
Elven Crystals - levels 4 to 6
Prince of Darkness - levels 7 to 9
Sleeping Gods (last adventure) - level 10

As for a backstory, the adventures all contain machinations around ancient entities that arise to threaten the countries of Albion, Erewon and Glissom. It wouldn't be hard to build a prophecy around the three. All you need to do then is use various loose ends to tie together the adventures and provide some foreshadowing. For example, the ancient god met early on in Sleeping Gods could have an interest in them as they are the ones involved in the prophecy and give forewarning of what is to come.

As for EC being for levels 4 to 6, I have always thought that it could be run at higher levels with little issue. The adventure is quite hard in many places.

So, wait... each book (SG, EC, PoD) isn't a self contained campaign?

For some reason I was thinking that my group could play SG and retire those characters. I thought i read they end up with their own castle, so I took that to mean pretty high rank.

Then, I was going to roll up new characters and start a EC campaign, etc.

It sounds like these are linked adventures that can be played 'in' a campaign while strung together, but are not 'epic' or complete rank 1- 10 campaigns.

Is this right?

Oh well, I'll buy it all anyway. :)

Each of the adventure books is a self-contained campaign, but they're structured in such a way that they can be combined to make a much longer and more epic series of adventures. In particular, Sleeping Gods has a very open framework so other adventures can be added into the gaps between its parts.

No, they are self contained.

I am modifying things to make them into a single uber epic campaign :)

Thanks a lot for your reply! :D :D :D Sounds very good... when I'll get the other books (EC & PoD) I'll work on them to create a unique huge campaign...

My copy turned up today. Extremely good artwork and maps makes for an impressive package. The DW line so far has been excellent. I can only hope some new content is in the pipeline. Advanced rules would be welcome especially a skills system and more spells.
