Unfortunately, the other hardcopy and PDF books I have all suffered from poor image quality for deckplans.
Suspect Mongoose is taking a 'safe' approach, despite some loss of quality. That could even be based on printer requirements, old advice/practices and/or getting burnt in the past. Bear in mind - Mongoose is foremost a Gaming company... supporting resolution independent PDFs and printouts can be quite tricky, even today, most especially when the artwork is being outsourced. All sorts of costly production delays and quality/support issues can occur without the right knowledge and approach.
