Portraits for SciFi Characters

Putting a fair amount of work in this campaign to ensure the crew arnt just a bunch of faceless stats, but are a mix of important and minor characters. To make the characters more memorable I decided to get some portraits, but I've no artistic talent. Despite endless googling I couldnt find anything suitable.

I then looked for a SciFi portrait generator. I found some suitable for D&D games, but nothing suitable for traveller. I then remembered that Eve Online have recently revamped their character builder. By signing up for a free account, running the application in windowed mode and taking screen shots with alt-print screen it is fairly easy to use it to make your own Scifi Character Builder. I've used it to create images for the players, their crew, and a couple of other NPCs. Check here if you'd like to see the images.

UPP of 785258, so not that hard really, and pretty damn dumb! Each crew member gets iron man style random UPP (though the players get to choose which skill set to apply to which random stats). I think ive generated a lizard that could out smart him once If you want hard, one of their marines is fits that bill. Vonda Nixon, the only female marine, but with a UPP of AB9487.

Rather than having to come up for names for unexpected NPCs on the spot I have a few sheets full of male and female names using this from Seventh Sanctum.

I pick a name then strike it off the list. I then made the dreadful mistake of handing these sheets to the players when they were recruiting their crew, who then choose the most ridiculous names they could find out of several hundred randomly generated names.

If you think Fermin Burger is bad, can you imagine the stick their Communication Operator gets?

Doug is a player character with a +7 to hit with his laser rifle I wouldnt joke :mrgreen:

That is a great idea and a big help since I print out portrait cards for the major NPC's in my campaigns. Whenever the NPC is speaking I hold his/her card in front of me.

It's especially useful when NPC's are arguing among themselves.
