If your going micro, you will need to adjust some other things. Since you will not have single models of foot. Better to make each stand a fireteam. But, when you do that you lose much and will have to compensate.
One way to handle it is draw cards to see what model in the fireteam was hit. Example. You have a fireteam made up of a team leader, rifleman, rifleman, and mg. You are firing at enemy group. The FZ caught just the one team in it. You count cover for the team not the models in this case. For the sake of this example lets say they were in cover.
You roll a total of 5 dice, (you have not set your mg). The enemy Fire team has four models in it. Dice rolled is 1,2,5,6,6. Instead of allocating, you just pull cards for the 2 6s. To see how was targeted or killed. In this case the cover means only Targets are made, assume they are MEA, so they have no saves. Aces means officer is hit. Facecards means a special model is hit. Numbered cards means a rifleman is hit.
Simple! Now for snipers pull a card as normal but any HEARTS pulled means the sniper can pick the model he wants!

You know TOS, I can't stand cards. 
I would rather see a Tough special, there is a point beyond which a fireteam is no longer a viable asset. Something like this:
Tough: The fireteam may take up to 3 hits before it ceases to exist. After each hit lose one Die from your weapons.
Obviously a 3 man fireteam would be 2 hits.
How's that?

Well if your going to do that, there is no reason to even have different models on a fireteam base, instead it is just a fireteam, or unit, with a d6 against infantry and a D10 against tanks (each fireteam would have it's own set a numbers in values.
Example
US fireteam. Target 4 Save 3 Kill 6 move 2" range 8" 2xD6 vs Armor range 12" 1D10+1. 2 fireteams upto for each fireteam must be within 4" of each other.
MEA unit Target 4 Save 5 Kill 6 move 2" range 8" 1xD6 vs Armor range 12" 2xD10. MEA consist of 2 stands that fire together or seperately, but must remain in contact with one another
PLA fireteam Target 4 Save 4 Kill 6 move 2" range 8" 1xD6 vs Armor range 8" 2xd10+2 3 fire teams, must remain within 2" of one another.
EFTF fireteam Target 4 Save 3 Kill 6 move 2" range 8" 2xd6 vs Armor range 12" 1D10+2 2 fireteams, must be within 4"
Note the lowered armor since you remove by stand now. Plus I combined stats and gave both the US and EFTF thier weapons section attached to the squads.
Snipers are two figure fireteams. Make the stats with 1D6+2 against size 1 or 2 Models. for EFTF, PLA, and USMC, use 1D6+2 against size 1 only for the MEA. Give them a 2 Armor and what ever else you want. Also snipers do NOT remove stands, instead the stand is out of command, if a successful attack is made.
Suppression only takes place with fireteams if a attack is unsuccessful due to a armor save being made. Hence the unit was attacked but not removed because it made it's armor save. Never more than 1 suppression.
A very abbrevatied version of the game. I suggest non armored vehicles have NO toughness, and Tanks have a maximum of toughness 3.
Is that more to your liking?
