Dear Mongoose,

Can we have the missing atmosphere types text put into the Player's Guide errata file?

particularly,

None
Trace
Thin
Standard
Dense

please/thank you

While we are on the subject, could you (Mongoose) please tell us how to get result 11 and 12 on the POP table (page 172) as well... It seems to be a 2d6-2 roll with no modifiers and... well... I can't seem to roll 14 on my 2d6.

;)

I'm thinking the Population mods should be

Size 6-9 = +1
Atmosphere 5-6, 8 = +1

it gives bigger planets more population which seems to be indicated
(second paragraph right column pg 170)
except size 10 because the High-G is uncomfortable
(fourth paragraph right column pg 170)

the most livable atmospheres would also draw/produce more people

In the OTU you can't really get pop B and C worlds (because frankly they'd break the economy of the whole sector).

In the playtest I suggested these pop mods:

Code:
DM -1 if size 3-. (due to low gravity)
DM -1 if size A. (due to high gravity)

   DM -1 for atm 0-3, A, F
   (DM -0 for atm 4, 7, 9, D, E)
   DM +2 for atm 5, 6 ,8
   DM -4 for atm B
   DM -6 for atm C

DM -1 for temperature 2 or 4 (Icy or Hot).
DM -2 for temperature 1 or 5 (Frozen or Roasting).

This really concentrates the population on the habitable worlds and pushes them away from the uninhabitable ones. It's a lot more extreme than the "Hard Science" worldgen mod in the rulebook but IMO it's more realistic.

I started another thread here - http://www.mongoosepublishing.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=37126 - to discuss atmosphere types in general.

And if we're talking about requests, can Mongoose actually change the title of the document to "Errata", because it really isn't a "Players Guide" in any way, shape or form.
