Planet Mongoose

Niven's contribution to the Animated Series didn't make a lot of sense at all, either in the context of the original Slaver race or the Kzin. It was in fact quite bizarre and out of place.

ADB have turned the Kzinti into something quite sensible and having a proper place within their Star Fleet Universe.

Not aware of Niven's Slaver race having any mention at all within the SFU, though if you scan through their historical files and timeline you will see that there are several ancient races, some of whom have been very powerful indeed.

Just an update -- I have asked SVC if we can take about 8 pages from the PD20M core rulebook and use it as a freebie. I don't know if it will fly now as it is a pretty busy time for us since we have two short publications to get out by Friday, but the idea is floated.

AFAIK Larry Niven's contribution to the Animated Series was taken straight from his Known Space story The Soft Weapon, which is a great story... in the Known Space context.

The SFU does have stasis boxes, many of them left behind by "The Old Kings", an empire which existed prior to the rise of the Federation and Klingon empires. They hired Klingons as starship crews, but suddenly packed up and left. Nobody knows where or why.
