Cosmic Mongoose
Spoiler Alert obviously
Has anyone else looked at the trade deal that could be negotiated in The Demon's Eye Adventure, or have I spent way too much time looking at this?
The Tech World offer in the Drinax adventure has a list of trade goods that Tech World wants a cheap supply of.
Ignoring the protection and ships side of the request and focusing just on the trade, there is a chance for a party to pull off a diplomatic coup and get 4 or 5 systems to join Drinax (IMHO). If this is something the author thought of, hats off to them.
Tech World wants Basic Consumables, raw materials, and uncommon raw materials as well as radioactives and petrochemicals.
If the group contacts Inurin, Falcon and Exe they could create an interesting trade and technology transfer deal in the name of the King.
Falcon controls Sperle as an occupied system. (Falcon is similar to Drinax, 40,000 people on advanced tech island surrounded by lower tech levels, but Falcon is so closed off they are stuck in biohazard suits.)
Sperle could supply food and Petrochemicals, and has 2 Asteroid Belts for metals that a spacefaring group could exploit.
Falcon has 4 Gas Giants that could fuel a Petrochemical and Plastics industry
Exe is in a similar situation, all it needs is a high tech planet to make the chemical module to do the Hydrocarbon cracking and construction. (Hello Tech World). This was even mentioned in the first adventure in that the orbital facility was a chemical plant that was cut off the platform and stolen by the Vulture class ship.
Inurin is lower tech but could provide metals and food as well.
Tech World could pay for all this material coming in by making higher tech goods to ship back to the planets, and selling consulting and training services to uplift the planets. Drinax and the Scholars Tower could do the same thing.
In one frenzy of negotiation Five systems could sign on to the Drinaxian Co-Prosperity sphere.
Anyone else looked at this? My group seems to be following the Gardener of Worlds model, so I am waiting to see what they do during the coup.
And yes my group is that nerdy. I thought of this batch of planets, but they are doing similar things on the planets around Drinax.
