Pioneer Kickstarter Preview

I know I’m sounding more and more negative but I had/have high hopes for this game and want a great one. And the silence from the developers about our concerns is alarming.

I wasn’t silent, I was unaware. I do have a life. And I’m fine, thanks, just disappointed at what I’ve seen so far and hoping I’m looking at it wrong. Also hoping the devs will explain to me what I’m missing.
I will likely still keep my KS pledge, the question is will I love the game as a whole when I get it or will I just mine it for some nuggets and inspiration.
Criticism is a sign of care or interest, apathy is the real killer.

The problem with suibmitting stuff for feedback is going to be the assumption that someone else caught it.

Ok, always best to ask.

It was speculated elsewhere that the Pioneer starter adventure was written prior to 2023.
I'm chasing this because I'm interested; it it misses the mark, I'll probably go back to my own book I was writing. I was pull enough info out of other sources.

I’m questioning/criticizing because I’m interested as well. Highly interested. I never claimed to be a tactful person, though I do try. Look at my original posts, I tried quite hard and spent quite a bit of time proofreading and rewriting before submitting, trying to be clear and constructive. It’s not my strong suit.

I only asked if things were ok because it was a string of negativity and I'd rather ask and be told to F off than not ask and feel like someone needed a word.

I'll focus on talking about the things I like (not much left because I've devoured it) and writing stuff to fix it. I'm running the Preview adventure (my version) this weekend.

On the positive side, I just watched the YouTube interview and am feeling better about the game overall. I may still have to tweak hardware specs but it doesn’t sound as bad as I previously thought. One unfortunate thing I noticed, both the interviewer’s and Chris Griffen‘s disdain for Elon Musk was clearly stated. I hope that bias doesn’t get reflected in the game (technologically, since they’re avoiding real world companies).

Disdain for Elon is a positive, not a negative. That man can't breathe without lying.

I'm very much in favour of non-real world companies being used. Just avoids awkwardness. Though they disdain Elon for probably a different reason (his laissez faire approach to human safety and outrageous claims of pioneering work that was PIONEERED by NASA) rather than his association with the alt-right (which could fairly apply to Grimstreams as well). I'll have to do without the interview; my curiosity is not outweighed by my general disgust.

I definitely think the Preview was a mis-step not a problem. It was written before this post and probably reflects the issues before re-development.
