DeCamp (or other early pastiche author) wrote about another dying humanoid race in the foothills of the himalayas. Not a bad read, a quick short story.
The People of the Summit are a nearly extinct race living on the summit of the Misty Mountains in the south of Turan. They appear in the story People of the Summit by Nyberg and de Camp from Conan the Swordsman. They are hidden in the mist and protected by albino man apes and the "ancient one". They are held in fear by the Kozgari tribesmen and in ages past emerged from the mists to destroy the Turanian army. All good stuff. The story is pretty one-dimensional, typical of de Camp, but I think it would make for a good adventure.
