PBEM?

Banded Mongoose
Are there any current Play by email Conan campaigns being run? I used to play on Klooge for a while but things were getting too hectic to make it regularly for the weekly get-together. I believe a PBEM campaign would work well for me.

we had a game going on in these forums.

Evil Trevor's Legends of Zamora.

But it ended with his final abrupt disappearance.

Check it out if you haven't read any of it. Somewhat isolated in Japan over the last 5 1/2 years it was my only rpg experience in a while and my first chance to try the Conan game. I would love to give a new character a try.
Why would a play by e-mail game be better than a forum based game. I think Trev did a great job showing how a forum based game can be run, and it seems easier for players to keep track of events if there is an ongoing thread they can read.

I've never played by e-mail, but if someone wants to GM another forum based game, I am definately in. I have so many character ideas I want to try.

Do you guys know this site?

http://www.rpol.net/

It is aimed at play by post, sort of play be email but better organised. It also has some facilities for handling character writeups and dice rolls.

I'd also be interested in playing in a PBEM. I was applying into Evil Trevor's game just as he made his exit... le sigh.

I'm familiar with RPOL. It's not a bad system.

I've never really participated in a PBEM before but now that I saw RPOL I agree that a play by post on a message board is best....now we just need to find a game master :D

i don't think house rules would be a problem, so long as you are choosing them for good reason, and they make for a fun playable game.

I think a thread based game like trevor's, easily becomes more about role-playing and story telling than the rules.

the way to make house-rules work is simply to make them known and available to all the players so they understand what your doing.

I hope someone gets a game going in the forums again.

I might be willing to GM such a game, but I would use an house ruled version of d20 Conan, which cuts on many of the d20 complexities.

That's cool, as long as there are no mutually exclusive rules I'm game.

What do you mean by "mutually exclusive" rules?
