One thing that surprised me a little was the tension between True Malkioni Church and the Hrestoli. I was a little surprosed to see the TMC described as "God Learners" and at odds with the "heretical" Hrestoli. I thought Hrestoli were more or less the mainstream Malkioni in the way that Rokari are in the Third Age.

The Hrestoli are the mainstream monotheists in Fronela (particularly Loskalm and Junora, but also into the Janube city states) but there's a definite dichotomy between Jrustelans and Fronelans in they way the Invisible God is worshipped. The Fronela supplement for MRQ1 goes into a lot more detail on this, but its also described in The Abiding Book.

Hrestol himself had an approach to the Invisible God that the dedicated Makanites didn't agree with. Hrestol was betrayed and martyred in Sog City by a mixture of Makanites and Zzaburi and the Hrestoli haven't forgotten that. Hrestolism preaches a different path to solace and joy and the Malkioni attempted to quash that during their occupation of Loskalm during the 800s. When they were booted out Hrestolism rose again and so the old tensions are back.

The TMC are God Learners. Hrestoli really aren't, although they practice sorcery.

Hm, another oddity... How come Corflu, a Lunar settlement famously named after the wife of the man that founded it in 1611, is mentioned in Pavis Rises?
