Parry unarmed attack

If i parry a slam or a bite attack from a creature i will damage that creature.IF I am correct i have a great advantage vs monsters because i will harm them when they try to hit me.Is this true?

I think the mechanism for this is actually contemplated by unarmed combat rules in the form of a failed attack being the recipient of an Attack of Opportunity.

Not exactly the same thing as parrying a successful attack, but not too divergent.
