Ordering from mongoose

Mongoose
I ordered some odds and ends parts from the Mongoose webpage. It's been 10 days since. Has anyone else had this happen recently?

On a side note I ordered Battlelore from Days of Wonder and I got it in 2 days. Hmmmmmmm....

I think you should give it at least two weeks.
In Germany delivery times of the Post are between 1 day and up to 3 weeks.
But don't know how that's in the US.

It's almost Christmas, so the post slows down and Days of wonder make like six things, so it's hardly a challenge for them to work out orders.
:)

It sounds like you just ordered bits, which take longer. Sometimes they are not in stock and then the mail order department has to wait until they get a restock.

Patience is an important skill if you want to get anywhere in life, especially if ordering from a UK (!!!!!!) company, when you could have easily ordered from a US supplier  . They do this sort of stuff so that in future you rely on closer postage. Postage in the UK is really expensive these days.

Actually, my experiance says that if you arn't riding someone chops on something it tends not to get done.

My experience is if you really ride your supplier about things, or at least what your supplier regards as too much, you tend to get worse service than if you treat them as professionals, and with courtesy.

At least if one of my customers hassled me I would give them what service I could but politeness definitely counts.

Aniyn, what did you order, and from whom? Where is your supplier located in realation to your personal location? It all makes a difference.

Hope you get it straightened out. :)

My supplier? Mongoose. It's a bits order to replace a large number of poorly cast pathfinder bits and a cap sniper with half a leg. I don't know where in the states their miniatures facility is located.

I'm not saying you shouldn't be polite, but there is a practial limit to how long "we're working on it" is a valid excuse (and no, that's not what mongoose said - they're just going to send my order again) I once waited for almost 3 months for a copy of Battletech, the store I ordered it from always saying "it'll be here in 2 or 3 days". In the end, they sold it to another guy because I hadn't been in in 3 whole days to see if it had come. At what point there did patience pay off? (<- retorical question)

Yeah, the image of someone at a fast-food restaurant spitting in your burger when you hassle them too much comes to mind :)

As has been mentioned, if they're out of that particular part it may sit waiting for some more to be ordered in (if you're outside the US where it all gets made) or cast up (if you're in the US and even the main warehouse is out of them). Chris is usually very good at answering "where is it?" emails, and to the best of my knowledge doesn't spit on your miniatures order when hassled ;)

Reminds me of a little story... (prepare to be bored). Many years ago I was working in IT support and someone committed the worst possible offence imaginable by a minion in a service role - they went over my head because they wouldn't accept where I'd prioritised their job in relation to everyone elses. Obviously, everyone with a problem wanted it fixed yesterday, but this person had a brand new dot matrix printer (just so you can tell how long ago this was!) to be installed. I always ranked someone who was without a facility that had been working far above new installations, but the person in question decided to go over my head, and over my bosses head to get their install prioritised. Ten minutes later the call from on high came down to get it in that afternoon. Fifteen minutes later the printer had a nasty accident as I was carrying it down a flight of stairs.

Had they just asked nicely they'd have gotten it installed within a couple of days. Instead they ended up waiting another two weeks a replacement to be bought in.

Anyway, I just wanted to share that, but should also emphasise that Mongoose treat their customers a lot better than I treated my old work colleagues ;) Also I'd like to say I draw no comparisons whatsoever between this story and this particular problem (in case I offended anyone, I didn't mean to!), it was just Cuda's comment that triggered an old memory :)

I have to say I have had really good results from Mongoose on my orders.

Only one for ACTA ever had a real problem, Mongoose was shifting miniatures operations to their then new facility in Ohio. It took about three weeks to sort out.
Miniatures came all was good with the world then about one month later I received a complete duplicate order of about $250 worth of miniatures.

I am sure it was a mistake but I certainly benefitted from it.

I always get rapid e-mail responses from MGP when anything like this occurs.

I also do not excpect products any sooner than three to four weeks after order. I usually do not start buggung them until at least one month after they are ordered. :) :) :)

Jesee that reminds me I need to get some replacements for my wasp troopers before its too late...Still not to keen on the thought of paying to sort out a packaging misshap though, maybe I'll just press mold some :D

Thats a fair point, but still, if it is still in the companies posting dates (e.g. may take up to 20 working days or something) then wait, if it goes over, I would start pestering. If people forget to pester, thats their own fault.
