Opinions wanted: 2nd edtition Is it a success

I've had to resort to ordering direct from mongoose itself. My local supplier can't get hold of any from either of his suppliers and I'm starting a campaign in two weeks at my local wargaming club. As such I was wondering how the new campaign system differs from the one laid out in Sky Full of Stars. Also, has anyone tried using the 'make your own captain' section yet?

The campaign rules are pretty much unchanged, as far as I've seen (running an Earth/Minbari War campaign, but only 5 turns in), the costs of buying new ships and some of the refits/other duties entries are different from SFOS.

I've added an Admiral to my Drazi list for a future campaign, quite like the idea of being able to tailor a leader according to how you play and what race you use. In campaigns it costs you a Battle slot (as if you were buying a ship) for an admiral, and the ship you add him to then goes up in PL as normal. They can be bought or replaced for RRs during the game and shifted around between battles.

We have some more advanced campaign rules if you want a copy, Hiffano is tidying them up and making them all pretty looking at the moment but you can have a working copy if you like.
We've been running it for a while and it seems to be going very well, with the Raiders causing all kinds of carnage.

Nice, I'm thinking of having them introduced into peoples lists at the start of the campaign, thereby giving them someone behind which the players can help drive the narrative of the campaign. Obviously it won't be mandatory that they tgake them in each battle, but it will give them an extra element of tactical thought before their battles.

How frequently do you run a new campaign turn and how long do you expect it to run? If you don't mind me asking. It's the first campaign I've run and the first B5 campaign ever at my local club; hopefully the first of many.

Taht would be greatly appreciated, I'll take all the help I can get.
