OOB for Warfare?

Sexier? Nah, they are for power gamers. Destroyer warfare is FAR more exciting and "sexy" :D

Actually, regarding the finer statting aspect, I don't think it would have required a fundamental change. Even something as simple as using a d10 rather than a d6 would have allowed a wider variation in ships' capabilities to be covered (I started writing a d10 system a few months back that worked well but ran out of time to complete it)

I, for one, would love to see this, so, Any chance of you completing it and putting it on your site as an alternative ?? (you know you want to  )

I'd favour D20 based as you get 5% shifts.

If you could set it in space with B5 ships it would be perfect. Hold on a second......

But yes, a D10 based system with a wider range for stats and qualities gives a greater possible variation. Lots of smaller destroyers are very much the same. The big difference between most countries is how big their torpedoes are and how many they carry.

Guys, if we keep along this road, we'll be down to D100's, and that is the Devil's Dice :)

Poo! Who needs dice, anyway? I've just ordered the steel to lay the keel of a 1:1 scale battleship USS Washington. I seem to be having problems securing a spot to tie up between games, though. My local port seems to be saying they need to off-load grain and they're just no fun. I'll guess I'll just wait to finish negociations until my 16" guns have been fitted .

D100 are good for mini bowling.

And surely D30 is the Devils Dice.

Hmm D30 gooodnesss.

Anyhoo the Devils Dice are far more insidious than that. Its just 3D6.

Funnily enough I have tried wargaming at 1:1 scale with real warships, submarines and aircraft. The results were, shall we say, "interesting" :D

But back to the D10 version, What are the chances of it seeing light of print (or at least web page)

and a D100 can be just two D10's
