New miniatures from mongoose?

bickets

Mongoose
Do you think Mongoose will make new miniatures for ACTA like say prepainted plastics or the like ? Or do you think they intend on letting ACTA's die? I hope they go with the prepainted mini's like something similar to the galoob one 's with better detail. What do you think ?(p.s. love the game )

No minis from Mongoose any time soon. And to be honest, unless they stay out of the mini business for long enough for folks to forget how badly they did, there is little point in them returning to it.

Players and retailers won't trust them.

They have said they will be looking at it again in 2009.
But you're asking what I think: I think no.

Anyone know what the state of the licence for making B5 ship minis is? In other words, is there a legal chance of another company making B5 ships at the correct scale for us to use?

I still waiting for weeks of my last 19 Ships and Frazi fighter I orderd.
When did the Burger think they deliver at my home?

Got the other player (in GB) all together, they orderd?

The price of miniatures on eBay is starting to reach that "high demand, low supply" level.

Hopefully Mongoose does something soon or else it will become to expensive for new players to get involved.

well thats pretty sad I geuss I just dont understand how some miniature companys work .Why cant they decide to do a limited production run on exsisting lines and slowly develope new one based on promissed/deposite sales ? Heck the guy that does Starblazers ship miniatures is still doing buisness still making new molds they just came out with a new ship. I know you are not going to make a mint but you do have a open door to new players and that is a good thing to make a game grow otherwise just sell the rights to someone who wants to support the game more than yourselves .Most players wont buy into a system they consider DEAD .You could at least make new counters or something ?

Posted by Mat on TMP yesterday...

We have acknowledged the problems we've had with miniatures themselves, which is exactly why we have pulled out of the miniatures market and have no firm plans to return.

Sad do read. Looks like no chances for B5 in the future

Sad to hear that we have to read it in another forum and not this. Why was it done this way?

Has MGP already given up any tabletop games? Are we just remnants?

Well they have, havn't they?
Matt has let us know that thay have pulled out, and all that he have said here is vague things like they might or they might not, right?

So I think that the best bet is that they might perhaps if the right circumstances present themselves, but don't hold your breath.

I agree...

I wouldn't get all upset because you think Mongoose has hoodwinked you... they NEVER said the miniatures WOULD come back. Just that they might, which is eexactly what Matt said on TMP.

Sure, we would like to, [return to the market] but we won't make a step until we can resolve everything that has gone before.

Mongoose has given up on Miniatures for now, not Wargames.

If they focus on historical wargaming, they can draw an the vast array of manfacturers out there, trouble is toys are where the money is, not books.

So, I should have never started ActA and SST. I wanted a game which would last longer than a year. Should have better started BFG.

If you have B5 minis, you can always save them till the next incarnation of a B5 table top game. I'm perfectly happy just owning a fleet of little B5 starships. If I had a couple million to invest, I'd buy up the license and make my own version of the game for you all to play. It would be super cool. I'd even make a special edition run of pre painted white stars...
