New LW covers

Those are absolutely fantastic! Makes me hate the fact that we have to wait for LWRPG (and the game books in the US). Grr.

Well I'm not too enamoured of that second figure on the bridge in the background. I almost think the picture would be better without him but his presence does emphasise the more than one player idea.

Perhaps it is not the Dakomyd.

Could perhaps be the Yawshath in Taunor Castle?

Not impossible, but it seems improbable. The claws aside, the monsters bears a more-than-passing resemblence to the art depiction of the Dakomyd in the original gamebook. The build is very close, as well as the proportions of tail to body. There are a few descriptive details of the Yawshath in the book that also seem to be missing, but most of those are open to some reader imagination and interpretation; and so may not be as applicable.

No, I think this might be nothing more than a manifestation of the fact that artists are rarely given much more than a short paragraph description (and, in this case, likely the original two-page art from the gamebook) to work from, a description that is in no way comprehensive. That's not a reality of the business that can ever be laid at Mongoose's door alone; for years now I've read author's accounts regarding cover art not accurately reflecting the actual book content.

Actually, after taking a second look, I agree with you. The second figrue is kind of distracting. Good spot!

Unless my monitor deceives me, that cloak looks green. No doubt in that. If you are speaking of the Kingdoms of Terror cover, then the cloak looks grayish/green. In which case I would say that it is just a lighting effect.

Ugh... I guess that we'll have to wait a little bit to see the final printed version of the cover of book 6. It is currently slated for a June release...

No need to rub it up under our nose twice.

Looks great IMO.

For those not knowing it, that's the cover of book 7.

Soooorrrrrry for the double posting, guys, I experienced a very bad connection this morning.
And maybe the forum hasn't got an anti-spam filter to avoid such dumbassness
