Hi guys,

More details will follow soon, but as a quick heads up there is going to be a World at War tournament / campaign day at the Time Machine in Manchester, CT on Saturday 2nd August.

Sounds like fun! Wish I could go! Alex, you should come down to sunny Florida! Another big HMGS convention comming soon in August!

By the way, good to see you in this months S&P!

Hi guys,

Details of this event are as follows:

Location: The Time Machine, Manchester (www.timemachinehobby.com)

Time: From 1030hrs

Format: There will be a series of linked battles in a campaign format to determine which force will win the day.

Players are encouraged to bring whatever models they have. Models will be provided for players if they don't have any 1/72 scale figures.

A raft of prizes available for victorious (and not so victorious) generals.

Hope to see some forum members there!

 When I first saw this thread's title I thought you were looking at doing a US Revolutionary War version of the game.

Well,
The WaW tourney we held at the Time Machine in Connecticut last weekend was phenomenal. There were 6 players (3 Germans against 2 Brits and a Yank) playing 3 linked games. 1500 points was the magic number...
I was running a fairly standard Panzergrenadier list with two squads in SDKfz/1s, a full command in a Neu (with the Unteroffizer and Panzerschreck in a Kubel), 1 each MG and Mortar support teams, and a Jagd...
My first engagement was against old Alex Fennell himself (playing British paras' of course). It was a hard fought bloodbath of equal death until the last turn... this is when is air support came back onto the battlefield with the required 4+. He then proceeded to kick the living poo out of my Germans... needless to say, he took that victory..

It all went down hill from there...
my next battle was against Josh Barrett's British Rifles... he handed me the largest (by far) defeat I have EVER taken in ANY game system in MY ENTIRE LIFE!! He slaughtered me to a man and I destroyed nary a one of his units in total... sigh....

My last round was against the fightin infantry of the good ol' U.S. of A brought to the table by Time Machine manager Ken "The Butcher" Bernier... it was back and fourth for the longest time with me holding 6 pieces of the needed terrain and he holding only 4... then... you guessed it, my tactical genius came through as I became frustrated by a firefight (don't leave good cover to charge up against entrenched Americans in medium cover... now matter HOW bored you are with shooting)...it continued downhill from there straight into the bloody gutter with my fool-hearty grenadiers at the bottom of the poop-pile...

After all of the smoke had cleared I was, you GUESS IT... DEAD LAST! Once again I have claimed a Mongoose Purple Heart award. I seem to live on the booby prize in these tournaments...I can't wait to try a Modern tourney so I can loose that too! :)

Despite the carnage wrought upon my silly little bones, I had a blast of a time. It was also an excuse to paint up my Germans. We played with 1/72 scale figures and, the night before, I painted the whole tootin' army in just 4 hours of paint brush flurry fury (minus two pre-painted Dragon Armor vehicles..gawd I love those).

Good times...bloody, blistered fingers from paintin last minute and a sore bum from the vicious spanking I got on the tabletop... ;)

Can't wait to do it all over (with a chest full of purple hearts of course).

GARH!! That sucks! They worked late Friday night refitting the lighting so we could have the tourney. I guess when your gaming group spends probably $20K pluss a year collectively at a place they make accomodations (or they'd better anyway)

In the future email me directly, or check the Gamebrigade Yahoo group... a bunch of us have the keys to the basement gaming area and stay after hours anyway...
