New DW Campain

Sir Brad

Banded Mongoose
How do All, today I just started a new DW campaign with some folks most of whom have never played DW before, and one guy who hasn't played DW since 1st ed, any way it has bean fun working through adventures Old & New after a few months away from DW.

the Characters are:

Squire Simon the Sorcerer, His Father is a Knight and also the Archivist for Baron Alfred, though as a Page he showed the makings of a good Knight (Str14, Ref16) he was more interested in the Books & Scrolls of his Fathers Office. When the Knight he was Apprenticed to went on Crusade Simon instead was sent to study in Clyster so he could one day assume his Fathers office, hear his Brilliant Mind (Int 18) soon surpassed his professors and he took up the study of the Arcane where he exceld thanks to his raw Magical Potenchial (Psi18). wile returning home he made the acquaintance of a Mercanian Female Warrior and together they dispatched an Ogre that was menacing a local Monstary. he along with some other companions have travelled to Maidens Veil where they confronted a Demonic Entity and unseated a Usurper that had ceased the local Manor, once again on the journey home with the Villain in toe he took a short detour to go Treasure seeking in the Company of the Vicker of the Village of Axbridge. Once again turning for home he and his Companions have bean asked to search for a Tax Collector that has gone missing near a reportedly Haunted Dell.

Typan-Knee (Tiffany), (Yes the Player is an Exiern fan), a Beautiful (Looks 17) Female Warrior from a Misogynist tribe on the Mercanian Coast, she is an outcast among her own people, smarter than her Barbarian background would indicate (Int14 and a bucket full of languages) she is well travelled and a formidable Warrior (Str & Ref 18) she has made the acquaintance of a Scholar and Spell Caster Native to Abalon and together they have defeated an Ogre and with other companions a Band of Marauders, a She Demon and braved an ancient tomb, their latest exploit they have just set forth on is to find a missing Tax Collector.

Noelle Lutinàn, an Elven Scout and Adventurer (Assassin) Noelle became bored with the saditory life of the Elven Realm and set out to explore the world of Men, wile hunting Bandits for Sport she joined forces with a Vagabond Warlock to bring down a Crafty Hobgoblin before joining a local Scholar and a Northerner Woman to rid the Village of Maidens Veil of Bandits and a demonic menace, she has since joined them in delving tho Tomb of an ancient Human King and most resentaly joining the search for a missing tax collector.

Bertram Laset, a Mercenary (and Warlock) from across the Glave, of late he has turned his hand to Bounty hunting and Treasure Seeking some times in the company of an Elven Woman and a number of her other acquaintances, he is of low morals being a Drunkard and Womaniser, the Fines he accumulates for his Misdeeds rob him of his Treasure and his time in the Goal or Convalescence House prevent him from replenishing his Funds.

Lyndisy Montombre, the Pretty and Rebellious Niece of Earl Montombre she ran away from her home when her Uncle tried to force her to give up her Knightly Ambitions and in to an arranged Marriage, She first sort refuge with her Uncles Rival Baron Alfred, unfortunately he could not grant it without risking War, but he has given her Free Passage thought his lands, she has became the companion of the son of Baron Alfreds Archivist, Squire Simon as he goes about his business and adventures in the Western lands of Alfred's Fiefs from Maidens Veil and it's many Perils to Delving Vallandars Tomb and most resonantly braving Hobbs Dell in search of a missing Tax Collector. Possessing Lightning Reflexes (18) but not as Strong (Str 14) as the Males she trained along side she prefers to use a Bastard Sword instead of the normal Sword & Shield Combination favoured by most Knights (she feels her Gender and size place her at a disadvantage and makes her feel slightly inadequate) as she can easily avoid most blows but feels she needs the additional Penetration and Stopping Power a Bastard Sword offers when used two handed without the unwieldiness a Great Sword present for someone with her slight yet athletic frame.

As you can see today we burnt through some Prequels I used "Under the Rocks" for one and a couple of Home Brews before moving on to "The Darkness Before the Dawn" and "King Under the Forrest", I've forebode "Shadow in the Mist" for our Midweek or next weekends game. not bad for 10 hours play starting with some blank sheets of paper.

Those are their best stats eg Tiffany has a Psi of 12 and Lyndisy 9, Simon is just at the top of the normal range in the Looks department with 12.

Bertram just squeaked in to qualify for his Profession with an Int of 11 but a psi of 13, he faired so badly in the Language rolls I had to give him the ability to communicate with the rest of the party. Lyndisy dipped out on the Lanwages to only speaking three including her native and the last one is bloody atrocious, Noelle speaks a nice selection of languages and apart from Elven & Elleslandic they are all Dead ones

already got a story for you, as Bertram's player had to leave just as we where getting ready to start King under the Forrest, Bertram decides now is the time to try and cop a feel on the Barbarian, when he dose this Tiffany Berserks and Slugs him scoring a critical she then picks him up and literally puts him through the Stone Wall of the Axbridge Tavern (All foot and a half of it) so as he recovered he was left to watch over Le Cloche.

thing is Bertram is being played by one of the girls who has decided to play him as a Perverted Garlicky French Man who is all hands(her choice not mine and apologises to the French).

Well four out of five characters Blitzed "Shadow on the Mist" in just over an hour tonight, and on top of that one of the PC's quoted the movie Ivanhoe (without knowing it) when they said "Let's see what we can do about this weighty Junk" their a might peeved that they can't spend Treasure (that's hard to split evenly without hurting the Sale Value) and Coin has bean a bit thin on the ground, their once again off to visit the Barron with a Villain in tow and after replacing the Note with a Forgery (that has since bean burnt without being examined too closely) evidence against the conspiracy.

I'd like to have them crack 3rd before they face Hunters Moon and I see what to do about the Revised Elven Crystals (once it comes in) so I kind of need an other adventure that they can stumble across before they reach the Castle where they plan to buy horses (except for Lyndisy who got one in her Prequel)

Unfortunately unless I just Cut & Paste from some stuff I've posted hear, I don't really have the time to contribute to the Wiki group ATM as I've just returned to work after some Annual Leave, the Work piled up wile I was off and what did get done has to be overviewed and possibly fixed, Hell I think the whole last Week of the time I had off was just not attempted in the first place, so I realy dont have the time to Play let alone Run a game, hence why I'm running all Pre-Made games strait out of the packet as it where.

Thats kinda what I meant. ;)

Theres a bunch of smaller adventures there you can slot in between the published ones if you want. :)

Triple Header tonight "Box of Old Bones", "Stick that In your Pipe" (an expanded version) and "Hunters Moon".

we saw the return of Bertram Laset for the first two. They want next weekend that may be a no go due to it being Gen Con OZ and all, with that I will likely pick up a new Game or two and want to play that instead, so I've told them the weekend after the one coming at the soonest, I've also told them that they are burning through adventures way to fast (partly my fault as well) and we may have to cut back to fortnightily just to give me time to Wright since where soon to run out of Published Adventures suitable for characters of their Rank as their now 3rd and half way to 4th rank (I have warned the players of this), I may try and Wright something for wile they are in the North over the winter or just skip froward to Spring and run "A Weak Pleasure"
